Hirschberg, Pioneer in Florida
Tobacco Industry, Dies at
Seventy-two
Jacksonville, Fla.—Julius Hirschberg,
72, prominent Jacksonville realtor and
Florida chairman of thc American Jewish
Relief Committee, died here recently of
heart disease. Mr. Hirschberg, who had
forberly been a cigar manufacturer in
Philadelphia, was instrumental in the de
velopment of tobacco growing in West
Florida when he started in business a
generation ago.
