Miss Esther Haskins, of Macon, has returned home after spending several weeks with friends and relatives in Chicago. Of interest to many will be the an nouncement of the wedding of Miss 1 )ora Kell, Macon, Ga., to Mr. Sam Moog, of Augusta, Ga. The marriage took place at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E. Kell, being performed by Rabbi Max Shapiro. Fol lowing the ceremony Mr. and Mrs. Kell entertained with a reception, after which the bride and groom left for a wedding trip to Cuba and points in Florida. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rosenfeld have returned from New York City. Mrs. Ernst Horwitz, Mrs. H. C. Sommers, and Mrs. L. Dreyfus mo tored to Memphis, Tenn., for a visit with relatives recently. Mr. and Mrs. Harold Hirsch, Mrs. B. L. Lillienthal, and Mrs. M. L. Hirsch formed a congenial party spending re cently a few weeks in New York City. Mrs. Abe Schwartz has returned to her home in the city after spending a fortnight visiting relatives in New York City. Mrs. J. N. Hirsch and son, Harold, have returned from a recent visit in Savannah. The Misses Ann Avrunin, Gussie Gordon, Elizabeth Karesh, and Esther Haskins, all of Macon, Ga., were joint hostesses at a bridge shower recently in honor of Mrs. Sam Moog, a recent bride. The announcement of the engage ment of Miss Lily Brooks, daughter tif Mr. and Mrs. A. Brooks, of Athens, Ga., to Mr. Hyman Barnard Estroff, of Vidalia Ga., is of state-wide interest to their many friends and relatives. The wedding date will be announced later. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Held announce the birth of a son, who will bear the name of Charles Held, Jr. Rabbi Lazarus Axelrod has returned from Miami Beach, Fla., where he was guest speaker at the B’nai Jacob Con gregation. The ballroom of the Standard Club on Ponce de Leon Avenue resembled one of the magnificent motion picture studios in Hollywood recently when 150 prominent members of the club, attired in costumes representing fa mous motion picture stars, assembled for the movie ball. A striking and colorful screen production was enjoyed by the guests preceding the dance that began at 10 o’clock, many of the char acters flashed on the screen being im personated by those in the audience. An elaborate supper was served at midnight, the favors, table decorations, and souvneirs being appropriate of filmland. The social program of the club for the year includes an elabo rate Thanksgiving ball to be given \\ ednesdav evening, November 26th; a Chritsmas tea-dance December 25th, and a brilliant New Year’s ball Wednes day evening, December 31st.
