brated their 59th wedding anniversary re

tanburg, S. C., announce the engage-
mnt of their daughter, Sylvia Nina, to
Mr. Henry David Jacobs, of Nashville,
Tenn. The wedding to take place April
28th.

the wedding to take place in June.

evening, March 9th, at a linen shower
and dance at her home in honor of
her lovely cousin, Mrs. Jack J. Wachs,
of New Castle, Pa. Mrs. Wachs will
make her future home in Denver, Col

Misses Marilee and Evelyn Bach en
tertained at a bridge-luncheon honor
ing M iss Florence Bodne, whose mar
riage to Seymour Komincrs will be
solemnized March 29. After the lunch
eon the bride-elect was presented with
beautiful lingerie gifts by little Happy
Bach and little Buddy Cohen, who
were costumed as bride and groom.

Mrs. Max Selig, of Brooklyn, N. Y.,
is spending several days as the guest
of her aunt, Mrs. II. Kaufmann, at her

Mrs. P. II. Phillips, of Erie, Pa., for
merly Miss Eleanor Wyle, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Armand Wyle, of At
lanta, has returned to her home after
a visit with her relatives and friends
here.
Honoring the leaders of all local
Young Judea clubs, a banquet was
given Thursday evening at 7 o’clock,
in the green room of the Jewish Edu
cational Alliance. The dinner, an im
portant feature of Young Judea Month,
which is now beitig observed in this
city, assembled over 25 club directors
as well as several past leaders in the
movement.
Presiding as toastmaster for the oc
casion was Edward Vajda, leader of
the Ilerzlite Club. Miss Mollye Rit-
tenbaum, soprano, was heard in two
vocal selections and Leonard Green-
bautn gave a violin solo. Both artists
were accompanied by Miss Annette
Davidson at the piano. Paul Goldman,
a former member of the Erlanger
Players and leader of the Strausean
Club, presented a humorous reading.
The affair was arranged by Miss
Sylvia Hirsch and Miss Helen Seff.
Honor guests who were invited to at
tend included Edward M. Kahn, Max
M. Cuba and Charles W. Bergman.

An enjoyable affais was the infer
mal dance given recently at the Stand
ard Club on Ponce de Leon Avenu<
by the Sigma Gamma Club of Georgi.
Tech, asssmbling members of the col
lege set and their friends. The dam
was one of a series of entertainment
scheduled for the year, and followed
a group of small receptions given Ir,
the club in honor of newly elected

Ralph K. Uhry was beautifully solemn

friends recently at the Standard Club
on Ponce de Leon avenue, Rabbi David
Marx officiating at the ceremony.
Entering first w&s the bride’s only
attendant, Mrs. Charles R. Liebman,
sister of the groom. The bride, who
was given in marriage by her father,
Alfred Fox, was lovely in a gown of
palest flesh-colored satin fashioned on
simple princess lines. Acting as best
man was the groom’s brother, Julian
K. Uhry.
Immediately following the ceremony
the bride and groom, with the mem
bers of their family, received congrat
ulations in the spacious living room of
the club. At 8:30 o’clock dinner was
served. Lawrence Fox acted as master
of ceremonies.
Following dinner the bride and
groom left by motor for a two-week
trip to Florida and Cuba. On their re
turn Mr. Uhry and his bride will re
side at 1050 Ponce de Leon avenue.
Mrs. Urhy, who is the daughter oi
Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Fox, 1017 St.
Charles avenue, is a graduate of Girls
High school, where she was a cum
laude student, and of Wellesley Col
lege, where she was an honor member
of the senior class of June, 1930.
Mr. Uhry, who is the son of Mrs.
H. Uhry, 826 Peachtree street, is a
graduate of Beaumont High school,
Beaumont, Texas, where he formerly
resided. He later attended Tulane Uni-
versity in New Orleans, La.
