New York, N. Y.—Dr. Leo Wolman, noted social economist and liberal, has been appointed professor of economics at Columbia University. This is one of the few important posts assigned to a Jewish scholar. Wolman, who is known as a statistician, was a member of the experts’ commission sent to Palestine several years ago by the Joint Pales tine Survey Commission, headed by Felix Warburg and the late Lord Mel- chett.
