Gershon, Atlanta. First Vice-President — Mrs. Julius Goldman, New Orleans. MRS. HARRY M. GERSHON President of the Southern Interstate Conference of the National Council of Jewish Women Second Vice-President—Mrs. David Rosenfeld, Nashville. Recording Secretary-Treasurer—Mrs. Sanford Marcus, Montgomery. Corresponding Secretary—Mrs. Alvin M. Ferst, Atlanta. Auditor—Mrs. Leo Haas, Selma. Directors (completing unexpired term)—Mrs. Jesse Heiman, Little Rock; Mrs. Aaron Kohler, Savannah; Mrs. Morris Friedman, Chattanooga. Directors (newly elected) — Mrs. Henry Hirschman, Charleston; Miss Ann Weisberg, Tampa. The 1932 conference will be held at Mobile, Ala. The President of the Mo bile Section is Mrs. Mendel Goldstein. The following resolutions were passed by the Southern Interstate Conference: 1. Endorsing the program of work and the legislative goals of the “South ern Council on Women and Children in Industry,” which group functions through already existing organizations in an effort to put into legislation minimum protective requirements. 2. Endorsing the Southwide move ment of the “Association of Women for the Prevention of Lynching,” unan imously condemning lynching, and pledging themselves to support with their efforts and influence, the orderly processes of law. 3. Endorsing the work of the Na tional Kindergarten Association, and urging co-operation in its work by local Council Sections. The outstanding features of the con ference were: The “Club Institute,” conducted by Mrs. Ben Lowenstcin, of Cincinnati, who is a national authority on Parliamentary Law; the two very informative talks by Mrs. Joseph E. Friend, of New Orleans, who is the President of the National Council of Jewish Women; a talk on "The Future of Religion and Religious Institutions,” by Dr. J. Eustace Hadyn, of the Uni versity of Chicago, and a talk by Rabbi Benjamin Goldstein, of Montgomery.
