Births Mr. and Mrs. Kalmon Sawilowsky, of Augusta, Ga., announce the birth of a son on October 9th. Mrs. Sawilow sky was the former Miss Hanna Barn ett of Macon, Ga. Miss Evelyn Ward, of Savannah, Ga., was the recent guest of Miss Faye Werbin, afterwards Miss Wer- bin returned to Savannah to be the guest of Miss Ward through Labor Day. The many friends of Mrs. A. Kahanow will be glad to know that she is recuperating from a recent operation at the Piedmont Hospital. Mrs. Sam Schoen spent two weeks in West Palm Beach recently. Mrs. Weiner Byck has returned from Atlantic City. Mrs. Sig Pappenheimer is at home at the Biltmore. Mrs. Sime Einstein has returned from Norfolk, Va., where she spent several months as the guest of rela tives. Mr. and Mrs. L. Regenstein are spending some time in New York. Mrs. Russell Weil and family motored to Macon for a short stay recently. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Peel and son, and daughter, Edward and Ida, have returned from a recent trip to Savan nah, Georgia. Master John Herzfeld has recov ered from a tonsil operation. Mrs. Eugene Oberdorfer, Sr., has returned home after spending the summer in Atlantic City. Mrs. Morris Kent spent a few days as a guest at the Biltmore. Mrs. Oscar Elsas has returned from Boston. Miss Carrie Schiff is now located at the Cox-Carlton Hotel. Mrs. Max Samuels spent the week end in Macon. Miss Rosetta Schulman, of Chatta nooga spent several days in Atlanta recently as the guest of Miss Ruth Feldman and Miss Mat Shapiro. Miss Sylvia Oppenheim has return ed home. Miss Clementine Haas has returned to the city after spending some time in New York. Mrs. Ed Hirsch and Mrs. Ben Cohen are at the Winecoff Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Simon Selig visited New York recently. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kaufman have returned from abroad. Miss Bee Rich is attending Smith College in Northampton, Mass. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Meyer and daugh ters, Gloria and Jane, have returned to their home in Tampa, Fla., after spending the summer at the Georgian Terrace. Mr. and Mrs. Walter Rich have returned from abroad. Mrs. Fred Hilbrund of New York has returned home. Miss Blnche Haas returned from the West. Miss Lola Lilenthal and Miss Clare Strauss are attending college in Phila delphia. Mr. and Mrs. Louis Wellhouse and daughter, Joan, left for Tampa to spend the winter. Mr. Sig Guthman has returned from Baltimore. Mrs. I. Samuels has returned from Bennettsville, S. C. Miss Irma Guthman and Miss Florette Visanski left for Baltimore where they are attending Goucher College. Dr. and Mrs. David Marx spent a short time in New Orleans, the guest of relatives. Miss Eva Williams and Miss Sadie Williams are visiting their sister, Mrs. S. M. Jacobs, en route from California to New York. Miss Sarah Myers visited relatives in New York recently. Mr. Joe Heyman has returned to New York. Mrs. Herbert Nachman, of Nash ville, was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Milton Cranheim. Mr. and Mrs. George Gershon are now residing with Mr. and Mrs. Bert Fox. Kauf man. - Mrs. Leonard Haas was awarded the Membership Cup at a meeting of the Atlanta League of Women Voters. Mr. and Mrs. Milton Liebman have returned from Baltimore. Mr. and Mrs. George Rosenbaum and daughter, Helen, were recent guests of Mrs. Lester Schwartzman in Chattanooga. Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Gershon have established residency at the Piedmont Hotel. Mr. and Mrs. Herman Jacobson entertained at a dinner party at their home on McKenzie Drive recently in celebration of the golden anniver sary of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin M. Boorstin. Miss Lena Abelman Weds Mr. Brody at Jewish Club Of wide social interest was the marriage of Miss Lena Abelman. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Simon Abel man, to Sam Arvin Brody, at Chat tanooga, Tenn., solemnized at the Jewish Progressive Club, recently. Rabbi Harry H. Epstein performed the ceremony in the presence of an assemblage of relatives and friends. The ushers were Ralph P. Abelman, brother of the bride; Pete Block, Max L. Mendel, uncle of the bride, and Emanuel Brody, brother of the bridegroom. Miss Ethel Abelman, sis ter of the bride; Miss Sarah Cohen, Miss Marjorie Block, acted as the bridesmaids and they were gowned in pastel dresses of lace and satin and carried bouquets of pink roses.
