recent meeting of the Union’s Executive
Board in Newark, N. J., a program com
mittee was appointed that includes: Mar
cus Aaron, Pittsburgh, chairman; Robert

Cincinnati; Mrs. Maurice Steinfeld, St.

A prodigy’s ambition was realized
when little Ilymie Shulman, of Colum
bus, young violin genius, appeared before
Yehudi Menuhin in a private recital on
the occasion of Menuhin’s visit to At
lanta, and again when he made his debut
in an Atlanta theatre. Though only seven
years old, he has been playing different
tunes since he was three and a half.
Young Shulman has appeared in recitals
before Florida audiences. During his
three-day appearance in the Atlanta
theatre he received favorable press com
ments on his playing. His accompanist
was Mrs. Waldo Oettinger, of Atlanta.
Nashville, Term.
R. D. Blum, of Nashville, member of
the executive hoard of the National Fed
eration of Temple Brotherhoods, attended
the special celebration of the two hun
dredth anniversary of the birth of George
Washington in Boston, when the executive
board met there.

Discussion of education and religious
problems and election of Dr. I. P. Levi
as peimanent chairman, featured the di
visional meeting of Northeast Alabama
Jewry held in Anniston recently at Tem
ple Beth-El. The main session was
opened with the invocation by Rabbi
Joseph Bumbiner, Selma, followed by re
marks from Dr. Levi. The welcoming
address was made by Hugo Hecht, of
Gadsden, and the response was made by
Aaron Baer, of Alexander City. Rabbi
Bumbiner and Rabbi Gustave Falk, of
C incinnati, gave the feature addresses.
Following the meeting a reception was
held by the Henrietta Stern Sisterhood,
Mrs. J. Berman serving as chairman of
the hostess committee.
