• The marriage of Miss Elsie Merle Ep
stein, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin
Epstein, of Savannah, to Irwing Lewis
Samuels, of Atlanta, took place recently
at the home of the bride’s parents. Mrs.
Louis Scharff, of Augusta, was her sis
ter s matron of honor. Mr. Max Rosen
thal, of Savannah, was the groom’s best
man. The ceremony was performed by
Hr. George Solomon. Attending the wed
ding were: Mr. and Mrs. Max Samuels,
of Atlanta, parents of the groom; Mr.
and Mrs. Henry Harris, of Macon; Mrs.

• Mrs. Lawrence B. Holzman entertained
with a party at her home on Virginia
Avenue in honor of the fifth birthday of
her daughter, Mary Louise. Over thirty
children with their mothers were present.
• Mr. Armand Wyle and Mr. Edward
M. Kahn attended the National Confer
ence of Jewish Social Service held in
Philadelphia.
• Miss Sophie Reznick, of C'harleston,
S. C., is visiting relatives in Winston-
Salem, N. C.
• Mr. Charles Adler, Miss Laura Wil
liamson, and Mr. Jack Heriner motored
to New York to meet Mrs. Adler, who
will return with them.
• Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Ungar with
their two children sailed for Europe
on the S. S. General Von Steuben, ex
pecting to remain in Europe several
months. Before Mr. Ungar’s departure
to New York with his family, he was
given a surprise stag supper by the
members of the Hungarian Benevolent
Association at the Jewish Progressive
Club. The association presented Mr.
Ungar with an engraved watch in ap
preciation of his work in the organiza
tion.
• Mr. and Mrs. Irwing Samuels, whose
marriage was a recent social event have
returned from their wedding trip and
are at home at 1448 Highland Avenue.
• Mrs. Nat Kaiser spent several weeks
in New Orleans as the guest of relatives.
• Mrs. M. Rich is at the Georgian Ter
race after spending several months in
Miami.
• Messrs. Edgar Weil and Louis New-
berger, of Savannah, spent a few days
in the city.
• Mr. and Mrs. Julian Boehm and Mr.

gomery, Ala., for a short stay.

ping at the Cox-Carlton for several

• Complimenting Miss Perle Eplan, pop
ular bride-elect of this summer, Mist
Evelyn Rose entertained at a buffet sup
per at her home. Miss Eplan was also
entertained by Mrs. Dave Levin at a
bridge tea. Sharing honors with Miss
Eplan were Mrs. Leo Schwartz, of Pitts
burgh, Pa., sister of the hostess. Miss
Helen Eplan entertained at a bridge tea
for her sister, and Miss Dora Gilner,
whose marriage to Mr. William Eplan
will be an event of June.

cently for several brides-elect. The hon-
orees were Misses Perle I^evinson, Helen
