have returned from Nashville, Tenn., and
Paducah, Ky.
• Mrs. Aaron Oherdofer, of Jacksonville,
Fla., was the guest of her parents, Mr.
and Mrs. Marris Mass.
• Mr. and Mrs. Milton Liebman have
returned from a very enjoyable Caribbean
cruise.
• Mr. and Mrs. Jake Hirsch and family
spent two weeks in Miami.
• Mrs. Dora Sam and daughter, Mrs.
Ilarry Block of Pittsburgh, Pa., were
house guests of Mr. and Mrs. Victor
Kriegshaber.

turned from Memphis, Tenn., where they
attended the engagement reception of
their son John to Miss Rena Jacobs.
• The many friends of Mr. Charles
Ursenhach regret to learn of his illness.
• Mr. and Mrs. Joe Asher are at home
on Collier Road. Mrs. Asher was the
former Miss Helen Elsas, whose marriage
was a social event at the Biltmore
recently.
• Misses Essie Wenar, Rosalind Sim
mons and Betty Florence Rice were an
attractive trio who attended the Inaugural
services held in Washington.
• Mr. Lyons Joel is convalescent from
a recent illness.
• Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Bodenheimer
have returned from Pensacola and are
stopping at the Cox Carlton.
• Mrs. B. Z. Phillips is spending some
time in Florida.
• Mrs. Bert Lillienthal has returned from
New York, where she visited her daugh
ter, Miss Lola Lillienthal, who is attend
ing art school.
• Dr. and Mrs. Cohn spent a few days
here en route to their home in New Or
leans. Mrs. Cohn was the former Miss
Pauline Hertzfeld, of West Point, who
was a frequent visitor in our city.
• Miss Sunnie Liebman spent a week
with her mother, Mrs. Helen Liebman.
Miss Liebman is attending school in Bos
ton.
•Mrs. Ran, of Indianapolis, was the
guest of Mr. and Mrs. Wra. Kriegshaber.
• Miss Claire Strauss, who is attending
school in New Y’ork, spent a fortnight
with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar
Strauss.
• Miss Elizabeth Lillienthal entertained
at a delightful dance at Ingleside in cele
bration of her sixteenth birthday.
• Mr. and Mrs. Irving Samuels announce
the birth of a son who bears the name
of Robert.
• Mr. and Mrs. Samuel J. Epstein an
nounce the birth of a son at the Wesley
Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Epstein was
formerly Miss Alice Smith. The baby is
the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. H. Smith
and of Mr. and Mrs. J. Epstein.
• Mrs. Mamie Shulman announce the
marriage of her daughter, Miss Bessie
Shulman, to Ben Taratoot, the ceremony
taking place at the home of the bride’s
mother with Rabbi Harry H. Epstein and
Rabbi Tabias Geffen officiating. ,
• Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Leiter announce
the marriage of their daughter, Rose, to
Mr. Mike Taflfel, the ceremony having
taken place in Macon, Ga. Mr. and Mrs.
Taflfel are residing in Atlanta.

cussion.
• Mrs. J. Blanfield left Knoxville for j
two-weeks’ visit in Florida.
• Mrs. Jordcn, of Fort Wayne, Ind., „
visiting her children. Rabbi and Mr*.
Rosenweig.
• The Sisterhood of Beth-EI Tempi*
had a Russian Pea after their last regu
lar business meeting. Mrs. Sam Aver
bush sang two Russian songs and Mr. j.
Verne Resk played two cello solos by Rus
sian composers. Following the program,
tea and small cakes were served.
• 'Hie Ladies’ Aid had their annual IV
rim dance at the Jewish Community Cen
ter recently.
• Miss Ida Goldstein, from Newark,
N. J., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. I. B.
Finkelstein. *
• Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ellis Levine
from New Y’ork City, are visiting then
parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. Katz. Mrs. Le
vine was Miss Ruby Katz of this city.
Chattanooga
• On April 12th, "The Emanon Social
Club, of Chattanooga, Tenn., will hold
their semi-annual election of officer*.
This date will also mark the beginning
of the second anniversary of the Eman-
ons, an organization that has proved ]
themselves to be not only the most pop
uiar men’s Jewish social club in Chatia- I
ROOfl, but without a doubt the OMSt M f
five in social circles.
The Emanons have had a very succe**-
ful winter season, sponsoring many so
cial functions mostly given at the Y\ M
H. A., and all of which have been well
supported by the Chattanooga Jewish
public.
On April 20th the Emanons will gif*
an inaugural affair in the form of a din
ner-theater party for members and their
guests only. At this time the newly
elected officers will formally take over
their duties for the preceding term.
Obituaries
• Funeral services for Dr. Robert Rach-
mil, 60, former Atlantan and rabbi of the
Key West (Fla.) Synagogue, who died at
the Emory University Hospital after *n
extended illness, were conducted with
Rabbi Harry Epstein officiating. Dr.
Rachmil was widely known in Atlanta
and the South. He was a teacher of He
brew during the five years he resided in
Atlanta. ,
• Funeral services for Mrs. Annie R* 1 '
tenbaum, 55, widely known Atlanta
woman, who died at her residence at S6-
Washington Street, S.W., were conducted
with Rabbi T. Geffen officiating. Inter
ment in the Greenwood cemetery.
