The meeting was addressed most inter estingly by Mr. M. G. Michael, second vice-president of the Home, of Athens, Georgia. Phi Epsilon Pi Acccording to the reports given out by the National Interfraternity Conference, the Phi Epsilon Pi National Jewish Col lege Fraternity leads all fraternities of the country in scholarship, for those fra ternities having 20 chapters and over. These facts were recently released by the National Interfraternity which com piles the grades of the 72-member fra ternities. The record turned in by Phi Epsilon Pi is the best in the history of that or ganization. The greatest improvement in the schol arship of the individual chapters was in the case of the chapter at the University of Illinois, where, in one year, the chapter moved from 58th among 72 fraternities to third place. At 58th Phi Epsilon Pi led all of the Jewish chapters on that campus. In token of its splendid achieve ment, the Grand Council of Phi Epsilon Pi presented a cup to the chapter at the recent convention. Outstanding chapters from the stand point of scholarship during the past year were the following: Washington & Lee Chapter, first among 20 fraternities. University of Georgia, first among 18 fraternities. (Jeorge Washington University, first among 14 fraternities. University of South Carolina, first among 14 fraternities. University of Pittsburgh, first among 16 fraternities. Tufts College, first among 15 fraterni ties. Johns Hopkins University, first among 16 fraternities. Rutgers University, second among 17 fraternities. Charleston A. A. A. The Charleston Chaper Number 143, of the Aleph Zadik Zleph of the B'nai B'rith sponsored a dance in order to defray some of the expenses for the Chap ter’s visit to the Southern District Con clave. At the Conclave Walter Solomon was elected to the Vice-Presidency of the Southern District Conference. The Charleston Chapter also sponsored debating, basketball and oratorical teams that competed in the Southern District Conclave held in Atlanta recently. The Judas Maccabeas Degree was re cently given in a most impressive man ner. The Degree Team consisted of: Ben Berendt, Karl Karesh, Irwin Karesh, Walter Solomon, Louis Toporek, Isadore Ginsberg, George Cohen, Harry Simon, Leon Banov, Jr., Leon Bluestein, and Dave Goldberg. Asheville, N. C. The Asheville, N. C., Sisterhood has carried on some very interesting work among the members during the past six months, by featuring what has been known as the “Sisterhood Sister" plan. There has been great interest evidenced by a number of outsiders to the extent that a large number of new members for the Sisterhood have been obtained through the execution of this unique plan, which consisted of a series of anonymous good deeds and remembrances by various members, the identification of whom were not known until the Revelation Luncheon sponsored recently.
