Birmingham, Ala. The ceremony was
performed at the home of the bride’s
parents, Dr. J. S. Raisen, of Charleston,
officiating. Miss Spigel was given in
marriage by her father, and Mr. Sachs
had as his best man his brother, Frank
Sachs, of Birmingham. Immediately fol
lowing the ceremony an informal recep
tion was held, after which the couple
left for a motor trip to Miami, Fla.
After November 1, they will he at home

• Mr. George R. Rembert, of Columbia,

daughter, Augusta Porcher, to (Jeorge
Wittowsky, of Camden, S. C., in New
York City. The couple will reside in
New York, where Mr. Wittowsky is prac
ticing law.

• 1'he Atlanta Section of the National
Council of Jewish Women held their first
meeting of the season in October at the
Temple House, Mrs. I. F. Sterne presid
ing. Mrs. George Rosenbaum was elected
treasurer to fill the unexpired term of
Mrs. Sam Asher. Mesdames 1. F. Sterne,
Phillip Shulhafer, Max Greenfield and
Henry Solomonson were elected delegates
to the Interstate Conference in Mobile,
November 11, 12 and 13, to represent the
Atlanta section. Members were asked to
lend their support to the program of su
pervised study and recreation laid out by
the Jewish Educational Alliance, for
which a number of members volunteered
services. A resolution pledging boycott
by Council members of all German-made
merchandise was adopted by a unanimous
vote.
Following the business meeting the
members were entertained by Mr. Hugh
Hodgson, well known Atlanta pianist, in
a varied program of Bach and Beethoven,
as well as several modern composers.
The next meeting will he held Novem
ber 17th, when the Council will meet with
Mrs. Mary Schonberg, national executive
secretary.
