Berlin—A new series of anti-Aryan rulings was issued this week by various departments and officials of the German government. The Prussian ministry of the interior has announced that in the future it will not be enough for police men to prove that they have no Jewish blood, but they must look entirely Aryan. The German minister of the interior has decreed that officials whose great-grand fathers belonged to the Jewish race, even if they were baptized in a Christian church, must be regarded as non-Aryans. The Southwestern Dairyman’s Associa tion voted not only to boycott Jews but to oust all Aryan members dealing with Jews. At the same time it became known that the Mosse Verlag, famous Jewish -publishing house, will be sold at public auction on October 17. Atlantic City.—Because such action might lead to war, an anti-Nazi resolu tion voicing sympathy for the Jews in Germany and calling for the interven tion of President Roosevelt was rejected by the annual convention of the synod of the New Jersey Presbyterian Church of America. The vote was 224 to 1. Rev. Dr. Robert Arthur El wood, minister of the Atlantic City Boardwalk Church, was the sponsor of the resolution and his was the only vote cast in its favor. Jerusalem—The 6,000 German-Jewish refugees who arrived here in the last few months are well on the way to providing Palestine with an effective organizing force for industry and agriculture. Even more important is the fact that some of ♦he leading German-Jewish physicians, ”ow settled here, plan to remain perma nently, which means that Palestine will become an important medical center. The rapidity with which the German-Jews have become assimilated into the life of the country is encouraging. A number of German-Jewish students have organized a Window Cleaners’ Association. Others are becoming the moving spirits in the establishment of new enterprises for which the capital is furnished by Dias pora Jews. New York.—Nine Jewish philanthropic agencies and seven general charitable agencies received a total of $325,000 from the estate of the late Mrs. Madeleine Schafer Stern, widow of Benjamin Stern, former president of Stern Bros., depart ment store, whose will was filed for pro bate. The Jewish organizations received $200,000. STATKM KNT OF THE OWNERSHIP. MANAGEMENT, t’l Kfl I.ATION. ETC.. RF<)I 1RFD BY THB ACT OF CON- GKF.SS OF Al til ST 24. 1».HS.
