SUING ANTI-SEMITISM
In the course of an in-
ttitifotion into the activi
st */ the Silver Shirts of
lutrica and the propa-
tttda of race hatred dis-
,imitat'd through their
cttkly journal, Liberation,
limes Waterman Wise,
Editor of OPINION, went
u Asheville, North Caro-
ku, ond there interviewed
Mr. William Dudley Pelley,
Commander of the League
f tr the Liberation and
chief of the Silver Shirts.
It teas not without dif-
inlty that an interview
cas arranged with Mr.
Felley, one of whose aides
intimated that whatever
questions were in mind
might perhaps better be
tnnsered through corre-
ipondrnce than face to face.
But having suggested that
Mr. Pelley surely had noth
ing to hide and could
hardly fear the results of a
conversation in which he
uas at liberty to be accom
panied by a member of his
tvn organization, the inter
ring was finally arranged.
It vas conducted on Mr.
Pflley’j part with unfailing
courtesy, even cordiality,
despite Mr. Wise's frankly
and at times bitterly di
vergent expressions of
opinion.

A MERICAN Jewry, whose attention has been
diverted from the domestic scene for more

turn its eyes to the old South, which gave birth

headquarters of the Silver Shifts of America,

itself an auxiliary of the Foundation for Christian

happens to him personally, his organization of

Hitler’s Nazis snow-balled in Germany when the
German people were at last persuaded to the truth.
