CHARGES DIRECTORS
VIOLATE PROVISIONS
OF DE HjRSGH’S WILL
Management Of' ICA Is
Challenged by Anglo-
Jewish Leader
London (WNS)—The letter and
spirit of the will of Baron Maur
ice de Hirsch, who willed $50,000,-
000 to the Jewish Colonization As
sociation (ICA), which he found
ed, to save the Jews of Eastern
Europe from degeneration and
ruin, are being flagrantly violated
by the directors of ICA, who are
doing nothing about the present
plight of the Jews of Eastern and
Central Europe, J. Brutzkus, prom
inent Anglo-Jewish leader, charg
es in a letter to the London Jew
ish Chronicle. Challenging the
present management of the ICA,
Mr. Brutzkus makes the follow
ing charges: Its activities have
considerably decreased since the
death of Baron de Hirsch; it car
ries out no financial trans
actions whatever and has never
published an account of income
and expenditure; the Jewish peo
ple does not derive much benefit
from De Hirsch’s millions; the
explanation that ICA’s passivity
Is due to losses of capital during
the War is not substantiated since
these losses only amounted to $3,-
300,000; Baron de Hirsch’s test
amentary provisions that ICA
funds should be invested only in
government bonds of England,
France, Belgium, Holland, Switz
erland, United States, are not be
ing observed and that the funds
are being invested in bonds of all
countries and of private compan
ies.
Pointing out that De Hirsch
bequeathed the shares of the ICA
in equal portions to the Jewish
communities of Brussels, Paris,
Frankfort, Berlin and the Anglo-
Jewish Association of London,
Mr. Brutzkus declares it is the
moral duty of these communities
to demand that De Hirsch’s will
be carried out in letter and spirit,

Government Should Fight Race
Prejudice Cabinet Officers Hold
New York (WNS) — The United

possible, those forces which make
for prejudice between groups,
whether the groups be based on
economic differences, or differences

taken by Secretary Wallace. A con
