Dr. Vollbehr’s testimony revealed that Dr. Hans Luther, German ambassador had warn ed him to discontinue his ac tivities designed “to create bet ter feeling for Germany in the United States,** and had caution ed him to “be careful and never mix in American affairs in Ameri can politics.” Dr. Vollbehr admit ted mailing out thousands of cop ies of anti-Jewish literature as well as copies of Der Stuermer to schools, colleges and indivi duals. After declaring that “if here and there a Jew has had a bad time we can have no pity for them, be cause our people are closer to us than the Jewish people,” Streicher announced a new “biological dis covery” which “proves” that “the blood corpuscles of Jews are quite different in form from those of Nordics. Hitherto the establish ment of this fact by microscopic investigation has been deliberately prevented.” On the basis of this “discovery” he demanded that “sexual intercourse between a Jew and a non-Jewish woman must be punished by death.” Af ter hearing Streicher, the confer ence decided that in the future all German lawyers having bus iness abroad must employ only non-Jews as legal correspondents.
