other three beamed at me with the
benevolent air of murderers giving
a child a piece of poisoned sandy.
After I had shown that I was deep
ly impressed by the privilege that
was to be granted me, the conver
sation picked up where my en
trance had interrupted it. Moder
was holding forth on the beauties
of the working man’s life in Ger
many. The Bremen and other Ger
man luxury liners, he said, were
built solely to enable the German
laborer to take free vacation trips
at Hitler’s expense.

hear programs from all parts ofOne thousand children, both Jewish
the country. But in Palestine, a
much younger country in its mod
ern developments, it is a great
event to be surrounded with these
conveniences. This it is with a
feeling of great joy—almost of awe
—that we tell you that last year in
Jerusalem a new water system
was installed that will do away
with the water shortage there. We
are so used to plenty of water run
ning from a faucet that we find it
hard to believe that people in the
Holy Land could have a water sup
ply only once a week. Now that a
38-mile pump has been built which
brings the water from a large new
reservoir the people may have a
fresh water supply three times a
week.
The first Palestinian radio sta
tion already is operating. An
nouncements and programs are
being given in English, Hebrew and
Arabic, the three main languages
of Palestine. It is said that the
new Palestine Symphony Orches
tra, conducted by Arturo Toscanini,
the famous orchestra director, will
be heard over this new station.
This will surely be a treat for music
lovers, for not only is Toscanini
one of the world’s greatest conduc
tors, but all the musicians in the
orchestra are famous artists who,
for religious and racial reasons,
have been exiled from other lands.
12. Not only is the Hebrew Uni
versity growing, but schools for
younger children are found more
and more frequently in Palestine.

Museums are always fun to visit,
don’t you think? They contain so
many different collections of un
usual things — scientific pieces,
strange stuffed animals and the
like. Palestine will soon have a
fine museum called Beth Hamamt-
zim (Inventors’ House) in Hebrew.
It will truly be a house for invent
ors, for it will contain models and
patterns of many Palestinian in
ventions, and a fine library that
will help in developing the Holy
Land.

wherever one goes in the United
States one finds the evidences of
the activities of these Nazi groups.
Their literature, usually translated
into English, is spread throughout
the country. They furnish speak
ers and pamphlets for meetings in
numerous large cities. They are
ever alert to propagandize in be
half of Hitler and to combat lec
tures and books unfavorable to
Nazi Germany. At the present time
they are cooperating actively in
behalf of a Fascist and anti-Semitic
America.
