Prejudice Wave Temporarily Stemmed 6 ‘Hall of Fame” Lists 120 Noted
Figures of World Prominence
Bucharest (WNS)—The anti*
Jewish tide sweeping over Rou
mania was temporarily stemmed
when three prominent leaders of
the Radical Peasant Party publicly
denounced the anti-Semitic cam
paign and warned that it repre
sented a danger to the country.
Former Minister of Justice Grigore
Iunian and former Mayor Dome-
tri Dobrescu of Bucharest told a
party meeting at Kishinev that the
leaders of anti-Semitism were dis
loyal to Roumania. Iunian said
‘‘the greatest mistake being made |
in Roumania from the national 1
viewpoint is being made by those
persons fomenting racial and re
ligious hatreds.”
Constantine Constandache, an
other leader of the party, said at a ,
meeting in Turda that anti-Se- :
mitism created the danger of align- ;
ing one third of the population
against Roumania in the event of
war because one out of every three ,
Roumanian bayonets would be I
carried by a non-Roumanian.

What this extra jacket does for you
November, 1930 .. . Double-Mellow
OLD GOLDS were first to use a Cello
phane wrapper as an added protection
for cigarettes.
A good idea. So good that all other
cigarettes adopted Cellophane, too. A
good idea — but not good enough.
October, 1935 . . . Double-Mellow
OLD GOLDS introduced the EXTRA jack
et. Double Cellophane. Double wrap
ping. Insuring the American cigarette
smoker truly FRESH cigarettes anywhere
he buys them.
today ... The OLD GOLD weather-tight,
climate-proof package is no longer a
theory. That the EXTRA jacket actually
does deliver FRESHNESS to the smoker
has been proved day in and day out
over a period of nearly two years. And
proved in every kind of climate: hot,
cold, dry or damp.
So the OLD GOLD smoker enjoys not
only the luxury of the choicest prize crop
tobaccos and the celebrated OLD GOLD
double-mellow blend.
He enjoys these fine qualities at their
best. Double-Mellow OLD GOLDS are al
ways FRESH. Always wholesome. Never
irritating. Never weather-weary and
climate-worn.
You can’t buy a stale OLD GOLD. The
EXTRA jacket is your guarantee.
