| ssohn was allowed, but not Beet-
| hoven or Wagner, at a Jewish con
cert. The German Jewish theatre
might play Shakespeare, Moliere,
or Shaw; but not Goethe or Haupt
mann. It is fortunate that music
and drama are international; and
if the Jewish theatre in Germany
is restricted in one aspect it is en
larged in another. It can draw on
the whole world except Aryan Ger
many, and It can and does play
the works of the greatest and most
modern dramatists of the European
countries, of Isben, Shaw, and
Noel Coward, as well as of Shake
speare and Moliere.
The Kulterbund has its branches
in a number of towns, and it en
rolls its members in every com
munity of Jews, large or small.
Over a hunched organizations are
alTiliated to it. It has today some
70,000 contributing members in a
community of less than 400,000
A resolution of thanks for the
cooperation of the Atlanta public
in their recent Hnnukah Ball was
drawn up by members of the Nes-
sah Israel Sisterhood at the regu
lar monthly meeting held this
week.
Proceeds of the Hanukah Ball, it
was announced, are being used
in the maintenance of the Or Ve
Sholorn Synagogue.

Mrs. Sam Latter, of New Or

leans, formerly of Atlanta, the date
of the marriage to be announced

The weekly meeting of Nuham
Sockolov Literary Society will be
held on Sunday December 26th,
at 10:00 A. M., in the Synagogue,

president, F. TafTel, will be “What
