Harry Katz, manager of The
Temple Theatre, 456 Cherokee
Ave., announces the program for
the coming week: Sunday and
Monday, "Kid Galahad,” with Ed
ward G. Robinson, Bette Davis and
Humphrey Bogart. "Men in Exile,’’
with Dick Purcell and June Tra
vis, Tuesday. On Wednesday and
Thursday, a special engagement
at popular prices of “The Green
Pastures.” Marc Connelly’s Pu
litzer Prize-winning play, which
has been brought to the screen
with a cast of 800. As a stage play,
it thrilled Broadway for 18 months
and enjoyed a tour of 203 cities
from coast to coast. It is estimated
that 2,000,000 people paid $5,000,-
000 to see it during its five-year
run.

the Grand Lodge.
Formal presentation to the
Shearith Israel Synagogue of a
“Sefer Torah,” purchased by the
late Abe Miller before his death,
will be made on Sunday, January
16, at 6:30 P. M., it is announced
by Rabbi Tobias Geffen.
The regular monthly meeting of
the Shearith Israel Sisterhood will
be held on Monday afternoon,
January 10, at 3 o’clock in the
Synagogue vestry rooms. The
fund-raising project of the organi
zation for the month of January
will be discussed.
At Bach Theatre
HILAN
“Artists and Models,” a spectac
ular musical comedy starring Jack
Benny with Ida Lupino, Richard
Arlen and Gail Patrick, Sunday,
Monday. The Hilan’s weekly
double feature bill, composed of
two full-length features, Tuesday
and Wednesday. A sinking ship
and the heroic efforts of a single
man to save the passengers is the
dramatic highlight of “Souls at
Sea,” with Gary Cooper, Frances
Dee, George Raft and Olympe
Bradna, Thursday and Friday.
Junior Hadassah
Atlanta Junior Hadassah will
hold another in a series of book
reviews on Sunday night, 8 o’clock,
at the home of Mrs. Sam Alter-
man, 4 East Wesley Road. All
members and their friends are urg
ed to attend.
Annual Concert
The Sixth Annual Biro-Bidjan

proval at its first showing this
morning at Loew’s Grand.
The star, whose comedy por
trayals have given her a unique
place in filmland’s hall of fame,
essays a new type of charateri-
zation in “Man-Proof.”

Palestine Film
At Rialto Sunday
The picturization of Jewish col
onization in Palestine, "Land of
Promise,” will be shown at the
Rialto Theatre on Sunday morn
ing, January 9, at 10:15 o’clock.
Atlanta Hadassah and the Zionist
District are the sponsors of the
film.
Judah Lehman, a German exile,
directed "Land of Promise,” which
has been acclaimed throughout the
country for its photographic beau
ty. David Ross speaks the narra
tive. and there is a musical score
arranged by Boris Morros.
Admission price for the showing
has been set by the sponsors at
twenty-five cents in order that the
entire public may see the film.

A new Atlanta youth organiza
tion, Outpost of the Atlanta Post
No. 112, the Jewish War Veterans,
was organized here on Sunday,
January 6. with a membership of
16 boys. The outpost is composed
of sons of members of the Jewish
War Veterans between the ages
of 9 and 16.
