of Asheville, N. C., was a recent

valescing from a recent illness.

turned to Miami, Fla., after visit
ing Miss Joan Strasburger.

relatives in Atlanta enroute to
their future home in Dallas, Texas.

arrives Wednesday to visit his

Mr. Herman Gross visited his
son Alvin, a student at Duke
University, for the Duke-Pitts-
burgh game at Durham, N. C.,

Mrs. Sara Simmons announces
the marriage of her daughter, Mrs.
Minnie Massell of Atlanta, to Jack
Cohen, of Spartanburg, S. C. The
ceremony was performed Sunday,
Nov. 20, by Rabbi Maurice M.
Mazure of Greenville, at the Twirl
Drive home of Mr. and Mrs. Max
Cohen, in the presence of the im
mediate families.
After a wedding dinner at the
home of the bride’s sister, Mrs.
A. Morris, the newlyweds left on
an extended wedding trip. After
their return, Mr. and Mrs. Cohen
will make their home in Spartan
burg.
The marriage of Mrs. B. Broudy,
of Atlanta, to I. Kapla/i, of New
berry, S. C., was solemnized .by
Rabbi Karish, Sunday, Nov. 20,
in Columbia, S. G. Mr. and Mrs.
Kaplan will reside in Newberry,
S. C.
Mr. and Mrs. Victor Sutker, of
Los Angeles, Cal., formerly of At
lanta, announce the marriage of
their daughter, Frances, to Dr.
David Goldstein, of Cumberland
Hospital, New York City, Wednes
day, Nov. 23, in New York.
Mrs. Eugene Oberdorfer, Sr., is
going to Jacksonville, Fla., for a
winter vacation.
Miss Hazel Hirsch, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Abner George
Hirsch, became the bride of Don
ald Roth, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Otto Roth, of Chicago, Sunday,
Nov. 20, at a ceremony performed
by Rabbi David Marx at the home
of the bride’s parents on Brook-
ridge drive.
Miss Jeanne Davidowitz, of
New York City was maid of honor,
and Charles Levy, Jr., of Chicago,
was best man.
After the ceremony the bride’s
parents entertained at a reception
for relatives and a few close
friends. The couple left on their
wedding trip and upon return will
reside in Chicago.

OBITUARY
MRS BERTHA GOLDBERG
Mrs. Bertha Goldberg, 66, of
811 Greenwood avenue, N. E., died
Monday, Nov. 28, at a private hos
pital. Surviving are her husband.
Max Goldberg; three daughters,
Mrs. I. Jacobs, Mrs. Bess Margolin
and Mrs. Ben Smullyan, and one
son, Abe Goldberg. Funeral ser
vices were held by Rabbi David
Marx Tuesday, Nov. 29.
MRS. LENA KAHN
Mrs. Lena Kahn, of 66 Fulton
Street, S. W., passed away Sun
day morning. She is survived by
three daughters, Mrs. B. Alber,
Mrs. L. Karelitz, Mrs. A. H. Drue-
ler; four sons, Messrs. L., Julius,
I. H. ancT Barney Kahn. The fun
eral will be held in Savannah, Ga.
