those films are of value at this
late date is debatable-—some be-

tor. Her father was a physician,
and Sylvia has read medical books
since she was fifteen, dreaming
that some day she would be a

When Fannie “Snooks” Brice
touched her forty-ninth milestone
ever so lightly this week, she
quipped, “Imagine me being that
old at my age?”

Thursday and Friday at the Hilan
Theatres.
“The Mortal Storm,’’ timely
version of a European family’s
story in the modern conflict, will
be the lead-off offering at Ponce
de Leon Theatre Sunday and
Monday. On Tuesday, Raymond
Massey’s masterful “Abe Lincoln
in Illinois” will be presented.
Wednesday’s billing is "Two Girls
on Broadway" with the excellent
“Young Tom Edison" booked on
Thursday and Friday. The pop
ular Mickey Rooney portrays
young Edison. On Saturday the
screen offering is Wallace Beery
in "Twenty Mule Team.”
Jon Hall in "South of Pago
Pago” will be seen Sunday and
Monday at the Hilan which brings
Jane Withers in “High School”
and Karloff in “Black Friday" for
its fans on Tuesday and Wednes
day. Thursday and Friday, “My
