Senior Softball League
Continues Second Half
Schedule
The JEA Senior Softball League
continued its second half schedule
this Sunday at Henry Grady Field
with a fast game between JTC and
A2A 357. AZA 357 lost no time in
getting off to a lead in the first
inning when they scored three
runs on one hit, an error, and two
walks. The first two men to come
to bat drew walks and crossed the
plate on Weiner’s sharp single to
; right field. After N. Diamond
struck out, Schlesinger came to
bat and was safe when Eisenberg,
JTC catcher threw wild to first.
Weiner scored on the play.
When JTC came to bat in their
half of the inning, they took over
the lead on S. Silverman’s home
run. Levinson led off with a single
to right. Singer, next man up,
grounded out, Levinson taking
second. The next batter walked
and the man after him singled,
filling the bases Silverman then
came to bat and hit the first ball
{over the right fielder’s head and

AZA 357 pushed across a run in
the second to tie up the ball game
but JTC went ahead again in the
third when they scored on S. Sil-

AHAVATH ACHIM
Makes Special Holiday
Announcement . . . .
For many years Congregation Ahavath Achim
gladly welcomed all unaffiliated Jewry in At
lanta and in the surrounding cities to join it in
worship during the Rosh Hashanah and Yom
Kippur services; frequently supplying them
with seats at the inconvenience of its own
membership.
In the past, the doors of its Synagogue were
open to all comers, as it was felt that none
should be denied an opportunity to worship
during these Holy Days.
It is regretted however, that during the coming
High Holidays, due to the needs of an enlarged
membership and the responsibility of provid
ing seats for the soldiers from the surrounding
camps, non-members, unless they have pur
chased tickets in advance, will not be wel
comed at the main auditoriums of either the
Synagogue at Washington Street and Wood
ward Avenue, or at the Educational Center at
250 Tenth Street, N. E.
Special Services will be held in the Vestry
Room of the Synagogue for all unaffiliated
men and women who have not purchased tick
ets prior to the commencement of Rosh Hash
anah, Friday evening, September 11, 1942.
Please cooperate in the above as any deviation
will be embarrassing and disturb the services.
A very happy New Year is extended to the
entire Jewish Community.
