The Southern Israelite [9] One of the most pressing danger problems for our country lies in the insidious perversion of thoughts and ideals . . . the kind of thoughts that weakens the very foundations of democratic life ... the type of thought that fosters hate and intolerance. We Americans must all be on guard against this invisible invader, because our greatness, strength and prosperity depends on our unity, our freedom of thought and our respect for all of our fellow Americans. My New Year's greetings to the Jewish people, are given in the hope that Americans will recognize this in vasion of hate producing thought and treat it with the disdain and con tempt with which America has always treated unworthy and destructive forces. Not by food, clothing, automobiles, factories or any other mate rial things.
