FRED GOLDBY
Fred Goldby, a resident of At
lanta for the last six years, died
Wednesday, July 23. He was 38
years old.
Surviving are his wife, three
children, Steven, Eric and Ann
Goldby; two brothers, Harry
Goldby of New York City and Jer
ome Goldby of Los Angeles; two
sisters, Mrs. Ben Kasman and
Mrs. Henry Fox, both of Brooklyn.
The remains were shipped to
New York by Greenberg and Flinn
for funeral services and interment
on July 25.
MRS. SAM MANNING
Mrs. Sam Manning, well-known
Atlantan, died July 10.
Surviving are her husband; three
sons, E. M. Manning, W. G. Mann
ing and Louis Manning; two sis
ters, Mrs. M. H. Cohen and Mrs.
M. Flax; and two brothers, I. Bre-
dowsky and Sam Bredowsky.
Funeral services were held July
11 at the chapel of Greenberg and
Flinn, the Rev. Phillip Fried offi
ciating. Interment was in Green
wood Cemetery.
UNVEILING
Relatives and friends of Esther
Kosnofsky, Max and Harry Knox,
Mrs. Morris Merlin, Mrs. Sam
Greenberg. Dora, Sophie, and Bes
sie Knox are invited to attend the
unveiling of a monument to the
memory of Sam Kosnofsky. Serv
ices will be held at 3 p. m.
Wednesday. July 30, Greenwood
Cemetery. Rev. T. S. Clein will
officiate.
Establish Girls' Home
PARIS 1JTA).—The National
Council of Jewish Women has op
ened a home here for young Jewish
girls whose families were killed or
scattered during the war and who
are alone, it was reported here
today. The institution was estab
lished with a grant of 10,000,000
francs, and the Council will an
nually furnish 3,000,000 to 4,000,-
000 francs for its maintenance.
The Paris home is the second
to be established in Europe by the
Council, the first having been set
up in Athens last year. The Paris
home can accommodate some 40
girls.

SON IN CALIFORNIA
Mrs. Ben Karchmer of Spring-
field, Mo., formerly Mrs. L. Kun
iansky of Atlanta, is visiting in
High Valley (Calif.), where her
son Leon is a student at a thea
ter school.
Leon has been appearing in sev
eral plays for the last six months
and from July 15 he was engaged
for a two-week run in OJai, Cali
fornia, Theater House.
