JERUSALEM.—(Palcor)—Sami
Effendi Taha, 33, secretary gen
eral of the right-wing Arab La-
bor Federation, and a supporter
of Musa el Alami, leading Arab
opponent of the Mufti, was shot
and killed by unknown Arab gun
men while walking along the
Kingsway. en route to his home
in Haifa, last Friday evening.
Earlier in the day he had made
a speech attacking the Mufti’s
newspaper, A1 Wahda, and dis
puting tlie Mufti’s party conten
tion that all Jews who arrived in
Palestine since 1918 were in the
country illegally. Taha had said
he favored permitting all Jews now
in Palestine to remain if the coun
try were given complete inde
pendence as the Arabs demand.

had been held with 35 other Re-
visionists since the mass arrests j
Aug. 5. Dr. Von Weisal was in '
Latrun camp last autumn when lie 1
nearly lost his life on a hunger 1
strike in protest against his eon- j
