JEA WORLD SERIES
AZA 518 emerged victorious as
ra w champions of the A League
after defeating AZA 134 in two
straight games in the JEA World
Series. The 134 defeat was a bit
ter one since that team had paced
the league all season and had lost
only one game during the regular
play. The 518 group came up
strong towards the end of the sea
son with a team composed of
’•oungsters who showed steady im
provement. The victory brought
<xtra jubilation to AZA 518ers for
t was their first championship
in any sport in the last two years.
With this title under their belt,
they're girding for the forthcom
ing basketball season.

Hospital has prompted the Jew
ish War Veterans Post to estab
lish a convenient donor station
in down-town Atlanta.
The Blood Donor Clinic is
located at 17 Alexander Street,
which has been remodeled and
refurnished to fit the require
ments for donating blo4td.
Calls from patients, veterans
all, in dire need of transfusion
sometimes have gone unfilled be
cause of the unavailability of
blood. Dr. Irving Greenberg,
JWV post commander, has point
ed out.
Members of the Jewish Com
munity are especially exhorted
to make blood donations, he
said.

ALGERIAN ORT
PARIS, (JTA)—An Algerian
ORT committee to provide voca
tional training for Jews in North
Africa has been formed.
In Morocco alone, there are some
20,000 youths who are in need of
ORT training facilities. When
schools were opened in Algiers and
Casablanca recently for 400 stu
dents, over 2,000 applied.

their daughter. Sylvia, to Leonard
Handler, son of Mrs. Rose Hand
ler of Philadelphia.
The wedding was solemnized at
Freport, L. I„ August 26. with the
bride’s brother, Rabbi Simon No
veck officiating in the presence of
the imemdiatc family and friends.
Following the ceremony a dinner
and dance was held in honor for
the wedding party.
The couple will reside in Phila
delphia.

at a ceremony performed at the

Mrs. Ely Freedman, sister of the
bride, was matron of honor.
Immediately following the cere
mony the bride’s parents gave a
breakfast at the Mayfair Club for
members of the immediate family.
The couple honeymooned in New'
Orleans and Guatemala.

couple will make their home in
