Abrams Talks
To Hadassah Oneg
Saturday, Oct. 9
The first Oneg Shabbat of Sen
ior Hadassah season will be held
on Oct. 9, at 2:30 p. in. at the
home of Mrs. Jack Berchenko,
734 Springdale Road. The speaker
of the afternoon will be Morris
Abrams, Atlanta attorney. His
subject is “Israel's Six Major
Problems.'' Mr. Aorum.x is a grad
uate of the University of Georgia
Law School. He won a Rhodes
Scholarship to Oxford in 1939 but
did nut enter Pembroke College
at Oxford until after the war in
January 1946. He was a major in
the Army Intelligence Department
in Orlando and later, when in
Germany was on Justice Robert
H. Jackson’s legal staff during the
Nurenberg trials.
Mrs. E. M. Manning, Oneg
Shabbat chairman, will read the
Sidroh portion for the day and
there will be community singing
of Palestinian songs led by Mrs.
Jake Friedman, assisted by a
choral goup.
Hostesses will include Mrs.
Larry Levin, Mrs. Alvin Josephs,
Mrs. Sidney Goldberg, Mrs. Abe
Gilner and Mrs. Sam Gnide.
Hadassah members and friends

ing to Mi's. Charles W. Bergman,
program chairman.
Mrs. Joseph Levin and Mrs.
Abe Alterman, with Mrs. Charles
W. Bergman as guide, are taking
the initiative in the art work,
along with these other members
of the class. Mesdames Milton
Stein, Aaron Lichtenstein, Lou
Canter, Ben M. Golden, Jesse M.
Goldman, E. O. Breen, Abe Bress-
ler, Sidney Sissehnan, Dave Kahn
and Jake Morris.
Mrs. Levin who has lived in At-
T | lanta for the pa^t six years, for-
merly resided in Brooklyn. She
studied art lirst at the N. V.
School of Applied Arts and De
signs for Women. Later she at
tended the National Academy of
Design, the Art Student League,
American Art School and High
Museum of Art. She practiced
commercial art for several years.
Mrs. Alterman from Columbus,
Ohio, has lived here for the past
three years. She graduated from
i )hio State University and spent
two years in Columbus Art
School. She did production illus
trations at Curtis Wright Airplane
Plant and is at present continuing
her studies at High Museum of
Art-
