Atlanta Collegians Will Be Guests
at /. Z, F. A. Reception Sunday
The Atlanta Assembly of the
Intercollegiate Zionist Federation
of America will hold a reception
at the Mayfair Club at 3 p. m..
Oct. 10. The theme of the recep
tion will be “A Welcome to Zion
ism.”
Mrs. Gerson Hollander will be
the principal speaker. Mrs. Hol
lander, a teacher in one of the
h’gh schools of Atlanta, formerly
lived in Palestine. Attending the
reception will be Jewish students
from all colleges and universities
; n greater Atlanta. The purpose of
the reception is to introduce these

',7, died here Saturday. Sept. IS.
Funeral services were held Sun
day, Sept. 19.
Mr. Schneider was the husband
of the late Mrs. Eda Lipfield
Schneider. Survivors include his
son. Dr. D.M. Silver; three daugh
ters. Mrs. Simmye Ruhr, Augusta,
Mrs. Ren David, Los Angeles,
Calif , and Mrs. Morris Adler, At
lanta; two grandchildren, Mrs.
George Hazzell, Savannah and
Miss Jane Silver, Augusta; one

Atlantan Killed
In Plane Crash
Funeral services for Capt. Je
rome Arnold Klausman, 31. of At
lanta, who was killed last Wed
nesday when the B-26 bomber he
was piloting crashed near Sim
plicity, Va., was held Tuesday,
Oct. 5.
Burial was at Crest Lawn
Cemetery.
Capt. Klausman was on a rou
tine non-stop training flight from
the Marietta Army Air Base to
New York with Lt. W. F. Scar
borough, of Dublin, and Lt. Wil
liam O. Colley, of Elberton. They
also were killed in the crash.
Capt, Klausman enlisted in the
I Original air unit of the Georgia
National Guard in 1941 and later
• joined the Army Air Corps. He
J served in the European theatre,
| where he won the DFC with clus-
I ter. Air Medal with 12 clusters,
5 five battle stars and a unit cita-
| tion. He rejoined the Air National
Guard in 1946, and was promoted
j to Captain last year.

past two years.
Mrs. Klausman and their infant
I son, Gordon, were in England,
where the couple met during the
| war, at the time of her husband’s
! death. She flew back to Atlanta
for the funeral.
j Besides his wife and son, Capt.
i Klausman is survived by his par-
j ents, Dr. and Mrs'. M. Klausman;
| a sister, Mrs. Georgene K. Pai-
| mer; a brother, Nat F. Klausman;
and his grandmother, Mrs. Bessie
Berger, all of the Atlanta.
VIENNA, (JTA)—The Vienna
Jewish Community intends to ask
the Jews of New York or Chicago
of some other large American
Jewish community to sponsor or
“adopt” it in the same manner
that many American cities aid [
Austrian or other European cities, I

the community’s budget lor social, j
cultural and relief needs is met by
the community taxation system.
Another 25 percent is supplied by
contributions from Austrian Jews
and the remainder comes from
the Joint Distribution Committee.

Chapter I has extended a welcome

the first Masada affair of the New
Year. Irwin Goodman, social
committee chairman, is in charge
of the program.
