—had its first meeting Sunday,
May 1.
The meeting at the Alliance was
in the form of a reception by the
leaders’ committee. This group,
headed by Mrs. Isodore Kingloff,
had prepared refreshments.
The newcomers themselves, re
cent victims of the European holo
caust—unanimously decided to es
tablish a club which would meet
once a week on Sunday at the Al
liance. They recognized in their
discussion the importance for get
ting together to spend time in so
cial activities with their own
group.
One of the interesting discover
ies made during the afternoon by
Mr. Weiss, a newcomer who ar
rived three weeks ago from a DP
camp of Europe, was a reunion
with Abraham Gerson, whom he
recognized as a friend left behind
in one of the DP hospitals. This
development pointed up to the
entire group the desire for getting
together for social activities.
A program committee volunter-
ed to meet and work out plans for
the election of officers, and the
development of the program.
Members of this committee in
cluded Mr. and Mrs. Weiss, Mrs.
Abraham Gerson, Mr. Aaron
Zederbaum, Mrs. M. Frostig, Mrs.

group included Mrs. Isadore
