Hi folks! Or should I say “Hey
there?" In any ease I mean a sin
cere and cordial “hello.” Glad to
know you all. In the past month I
have been able to meet a swell
cross section of the Atlanta com
munity and found a tremendous
interest in Jewish youth and
sports activities. And so I hereby
dedicute myself towards that end.

The JWV's have informed me
that they are now going to smartly
uniform their two teams who will
be competing in the same City
Night League, but in different
division. Let’s hope that this
beauty will be more than skin
(uniform, that is) deep. I know
there’re some real good players in
both crews and a good turnout to
their games will certainly help
boost them on to bigger and better
achievements. The games are al
ways out in the open and on warm
summer nights, that’s an ideal
place to be . . .

in outlook. He’s bound to make a
fine addition to the Alliance staff
and do a jam up job. (P. S. girls—
He’s single gnd eligible).
Too bad /about Palestinan, that
famous race horse who recently
competed in the Kentucky Derby.
Really was pulling for him. Even
so far as praying for rain because
the horse was sure to win if it
poured. The “mudder” though did
not have a chance to prove him
self and ambled home in third
place. If he had won, how appro

ter luck next time, Hirsch Jacobs.
You certainly tried—and came
close.
Two JWVet
Softball Teams
In City League
Atlanta’s Jewish War Veterans
have doubled their interest in
softball for th& season.
That is, they have two full
squads entered in two different
divisions of the City Night Lea-
que.
Kitty Katz, player-manager of
one group, led his crew to a close,
5-4 loss against Blair Florist in
the opener. The team won the
next engagement—against Veter
an's Cabs 6-3. A1 Berman pitched
a no-hitter game going into the
last inning when he surrendered
three runs.
The other squad, mentored by
A1 Schwartz, lost its first two
games 8-4 to Gulf Oil and 10-16
to American Legion Post 1.
