Isadore Heiman, Ed. Krick, Jack
Maziar and Morris Newman, co-
chairmen of the Food Division,
served as hosts to 40 grocers at a
buffet supper on behalf of the At
lanta Jewish Welfare Fund, 1949
Exodus Campaign in the Assem
bly Hall of the Associated Gro
cers Co-op.
Barney Medintz and Meyer Bal
ser, Campaign Chairman and
T. & I. co-chairman respectively,
outlined the needs of the 1949 Ex
odus Campaign. The men present
answered their appeal by increas
ing 20 percent over the sum they
contributed in 1948. $12,000 was
realized at the meeting.
Cards were distributed to the
men present for a rapid solicita
tion in the Food Division. Ed.
Krick and Morris Newman who
head the solicitation phase prom
ised that every prospect would be
seen.
Some of the workers in this
division are: Nathan Stolar, J. Ell
iott and Erwin Goldberg, Maurice
Pepper, Bennie Galanti, Charles
Rubin, Sol Glazer, Sam Beerman,
and Dan Wallen beside the four
co-chairmen.
After Dr. Makover’s sincere,
stimulating and informative ad
dress directed to the interests of
the medical and dental profes
sions, Dr. Irving Greenberg, co-
chairman with Dr. Blass of the P.
& D. Division, called cards.
The response was gratifying to
the General Chairman, Barney
Medintz, who was present. No one
did less than in 1948 and many
gave increases, some as much as
100 per cent.
Before tne meeting closed the
remaining 37 prospects in the div
ision were assigned to those pres
ent for a rapid solicitation. Dr.
Greenberg asked those who took
cards to see every contributor
within five days and make their
division the first to complete its
coverage and go over the top.
Dr. Joseph Yampolsky express
ed the thanks of the P. & D. group
to Dr. Makover for his visit. He
also expressed the admiration of
the group for the work of the co-
chairmen, Dl*. Blass and Dr.
Greenberg.
