their children, and Mrs. Henry
Seltzer.

Charles, now of Miami, are visit
ing their family and friends in
Atlanta.

Miss Ida Levitt .> arrived from
Munich, Germany on Tuesday,
May 31 to remain in Atlanta. She
is making her heme with her
aunt, Mrs. Sara Boss and her
cousins Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Leve-
tan at 1673 Noole Drive, N. E.
Miss Beatrice Wilson who has
been visiting her sister and
brother, Mr. and Mrs. Judah Katz
in Atlanta, has returned to her
home in New York.
Mrs. Rose Adler of Savannah
was recently called to New York
by the sudden death of her mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Harris
left Atlanta Sunday with their
son Michael Jr. to visit their
daughter Zena in Connecticut.

ly underwent a major operation,

Max M. Cuba of Atlanta, former
member of the Atlanta City Coun
cil, left May 7 for an extended
tour of Europe and Israel. He ex
pects to visit several points of in
terests in France, Italy also.
School Honors
Mrs. Sophia Grossman has re
turned to Chicago after visiting in
Atlanta with her children, Mr.
and Mrs. Fred Grossman.
Bobby Rosenfeld has been
chosen co-editor of The South
erner, student newspaper at Henry
Grady High School.

class speakers at the graduation
exercises at Henry Grady High
last week.

Maxine Yallowitz, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. L. Yallowitz of
Rome, was the recipient of a prize
recently at the High Museum of
Art in Atlanta where she is a stu
dent.
At Atlanta Division, University
of Georgia, degrees were to be
awarded during this month’s grad
uation exercises to Frances Car-
son, IZFA, Jr. Hadassah and
Plugat Alyah member and leader
of FOZ Young Judaea Club;
Frances Fitterman, member of Jr.
Hadassah, IZFA and leader of
Zionettes Young Judaea Club;
Sam Auerbach, member of IZFA
and Masada, and Ben Weisman.
They received Bachelor of Com
mercial Science Degrees on June
5th.

Hadassah and IZFA, was awarded
the Phi Theta National Key Award
at honors night recently at Atlanta
Division, U. Ga. The award an
nually is offered on a basis of
scholarship, activity and leader
ship to the women student who
best fills these requirements at the
end of her junior year.
MISS SLOAN NAMED

Miss Esther Sloan has been ap
pointed waterfront director of the
Y.M.H.A. summer day camp of
Miami Beach.
Miss Sloan, a teacher in the At
lanta Public School System, is an
American Red Cross Water Safety
Instructor and has had consider
able experience in teaching swim
ming.
