GOODMAN-RUBENSTEIN
Miss Jane Joyce Rubenstein,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David
Rubenstein of Augusta, and Don
ald Baer Goodman, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Theodore Goodman of Mont
clair, N. J., were united in mar
riage in a ceremony performed
recently at Hotel Ambassador in
New York City.
Dr. Maxwell Sachs officiated.
Ted Levy of Allentown, Pa., was
best man. Usher groomsmen were
Murray Goodman of Allentown;
Robert Ruttenberg of Reading,
Pa.; Richard Miller of New York
City; Alvin Isecor of Bethlehem,
Pa.; Dr. Bernard Yavelow of
Montclair, N. J., and George
Bluestone of New York City.
Mrs. Monroe Simon was her
sister’s matron of Honor. Miss
Elise Besthoff of New Orleans,
Miss Muriel Atkins of Belleview,
N. J., Mrs. George Bluestone of
New York City and Mrs. Bernard
Yavelow of Montclair.
Among the out-of-town guests
were Mrs. Rose Harkins and Mrs.
Anne Coburn of Augusta.
After a cruise to South America,
the couple will reside in Allen

Georgia Tech receiving his B. S.
degree in aeronautical engineer
ing. His present connection is with
McDonnell Aircraft Corporation,
St. Louis, Missouri,

latter part of August.
Education Bureau Considers Fall Plans;
College for Jewish Studies Considered
Plans are being formulated for
the Adult Jewish Institutes for the
coming year. At a meeting of the
Adult Jewish Education Commit
tee a tentative outline was pre
sented for a College of Jewish
studies with two semesters of ten
sessions each. The first semester
would begin on October 25, 1949
and the second semester on Jan
uary 24, 1950.
The following subject were
suggested for the institutes; Crea
tive Jewish Living, Great Person
alities in Jewish History, The Jew
ish Way of Life, The Great Jewish
Books, The Pi'ophets, and Modern
Hebrew. Registration was set for
the months of September and Oc-

are on an extended vacation and
have spent a week in Chicago with
their son and daughter, Mr. and
Mrs. Arthur Barbakoff. From
Chicago they went to Seattle
where they are the guests of Mr.

Mrs. Morris Wolfe of Evansville,
Ind., spent a few days in Augusta

tion. After this meeting definite
announcement will be published
through all the adult organizations
represented in the Committee.
The courses submitted were
suggested through the results of
a questionnaire distributed to all

Atlanta with her mother, Mrs.

Atlanta Bureau of Jewish Educa
tion is now reviewing the details
of its budget to be presented to
the Atlanta Jewish Welfare Fund
for the year 1949-50. Jack Maziar
is the chairman of the Budget
Committee.
