PARADIES-SHOOB
Mr. and Mrs. I. J. Paradies of
Atlanta announce the engagement
of their daughter, Miss Janice
Mary Paradies, to Marvin H.
Shoob, of Savannah and Atlanta.
The bride-elect is a graduate of
Duke University where she re
ceived an A. B. degree in Socio
logy. She was vice-president of
Alpha Epsilon Phi sorority and
secretary of the Sociology Club.
Mr. Shoob is the son of Mrs.
Michael Shoob, of Savannah, and
the late Mr. Shoob. He attended
Armstrong Junior College and
Georgia Tech where he was a
member of Phi Eta Sigma honor-

Mr. Shoob graduated with hon
ors from the University of Georgia
Law School where he was a mem
ber of Phi Kappa and president of
the Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity.
He is a member of the firm of
Brown and Shoob.

PELHAM, Ga. — Miss Shirley
Virginia Kahn, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Barney Kahn, was mar
ried Aug. 31 to Maurice Leon
Friedman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Phil Friedman, of Sandersville.
Rabbi Martin Hinchin performed
the double ring ceremony at the
Temple B’nai Israel, in Albany.
Stanley Friedman, of Macon,
served as best man, and ushers
were Tom Chambers, Dr. William
Rawlings, Carlton Lang and Jake
Perling, all of Sandersville.
The matron of honor was Mrs.
Julian Rubin, of Austin, sister of
the bride. Brodesmaids were Miss
Celie Gordon, of Buford; Miss
Sara Belle Rosenburgh, of Swain-
esboro; Miss Shirley Dunn, of

Following the ceremony, the
bride’s parents entertained at a
reception in the hall room at Ra
dium Springs. After a wedding
trip to New York, the couple will
reside in Sandersville, where Mr.
Friedman is in business.
SMITIILOFF-MICHALOVE
The Mayfair Club was the scene
of the recent wedding of Miss
Adele Smithloff, daughter of Mrs.
Jennie Smithloff, of Atlanta, to
Leonard Thomas Michalove, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Michalove,
of Columbus. Rabbi Harry H. Ep
stein officiated.
Mrs. Milton Smithloff, the
bride’s sister-in-law, matron of
honor, and Miss Shirley Drucker
was maid of honor. Bridesmaids
were Mrs. Milton Weinman, Miss
Edythe Shartar, and Miss Carolyn
Goodman.
Sam Michalove was his son’s
best man. Groomsmen were Henry
Michalove, Jerry Epstein, Howard
Aronin, Ike Dreizin, and Jack
Maziar.

The marriage of Miss Ruth Mar
cus, daughter of Mr, and Mrs.
Mrs. Murray Marcus, to Martin
May, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julian
Steinau, formerly of Atlanta, now
of West Palm Beach, Fla., was
solemnized at the Progressive
Club recently. Dr. David Marx
officiated.
William Charles May was his
brother’s best man. Mrs. Murray
Marcus, mother of the bride, was
matron of honr.
Bridesmaids were Misses San
dra Marcus and Barbara Ann
May.
Ushers were Maurice May and
Neilan Levy.
Mr. and Mrs. May will reside in
West Palm Beach.

MACON—The marriage of Mrs.!
Carol Flatau Joselove, of Jack- j
sonville, formerly of Macon, and
Alex H. WachteL Jr., of Jackson
ville, also formerly of Macon, took
place recently at the home of the
groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. A.
H. Wachtel in Jacksonville.
Members of the two families
were present. The bride's brother,
Ike Flatau, and Mrs. Flatau, and
the bride’s aunt, Miss Hermia
attended from Macon.
DITTLER-FIHN
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Ditties of
Atlanta announce the engagement
of their daughter, Miss Patsy Jean
Dittler, to Alexander Hamilton
Fihn Jr., of St. Louis, Mo. The
marriage will take place in the
late fall.
The bride-elect, a graduate of
the Atlanta public school system,
was president of the Sigma Theta
Pi sorority. She attended the Car
negie Institute of Technology,
where she was active in a number
of campus organizations and
served as maid of honor in the
Court of the Home Coming Queen.
Miss Dittler, a student of the bal
let for many years, was a dancer
with the Atlanta Civic ballet and
and taught dancing as an assistant
to Miss Lottie Hentschel.
Mr. Fihn is the son of Alexan
der H. Fihn, of St. Louis, and ■
Mrs. Millicent Fihn, of New York.'
He attended the Massachusetts In- !
stitute of Technology and received ;
his B. S. degree from Georgia
Tech, where he was a member of
Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity. He is a
member of Westwood Country
club in St. Louis and is associated
with J. D. Carson Co. in that city.
