committee.
Atlanta’s Jewish War Veterans
have completed plans for their
lone fund-raising project of the
year—their annual barbecue.
The food will be served—rain
or shine—from noon to 2:30 p. m.
Sunday, Sept. 18, at Lakewood
Park, according to Post Com
mander Irving Libowsky.
If larger crowds turn out, the
hours will be extended. Tickets,
he said, are only $1.00 each and
surprise entertainment is being
arranged.
Besides the tender beef, roasted
and grilled barbecue style, there
will be a special Kosher fish plate
for those who wish it, Chairman
Mack Frankel said.
If the weather is inclement, the
food will be served in one of the
exhibition buildings. Otherwise,
the spread will take place at the
lakeside.
Sam Bredow is ticket chairman.
Aiding Chairman Frankel are
Isidore Heiman, Sam Levy, Abe
Reisman, Barnard Berger and
others.
Commander Libowsky called
attention to the use to which pro
ceeds from the barbecue will be
made—the various hospitalization,
rehabilitation, Americanism and
other work in behalf of veterans
—both men and women.
Patients at Lawson and 48 Hos
pitals are entertained monthly at
special parties—regardless of
creeds and religion.
