Embers Glow Saturday Night for JWV
Benefit ‘Cue at Lakewood on Sunday
Eat, drink and aid a hospitalized veteran?
Sounds incongruous, but according to JWV Post Commander Irving
Libowsky, that’s the set-up for the barbecue his organization is offer
ing at Lakewood Park Sunday, Sept. 18.
The meal, at a buck a plate, will be served at the lake side from
noon to 2:30 p. m. Provided there is rain, the affair will move indoors
to one of the exhibition buildings.
Musical entertainment will be furnished to make the meal more
• enjoyable, according to Chairman Mack Frankel.
He also anouced that a Kosher fish plate will be served those who
cannot eat barbecue.
Sam Brcdow is ticket chairman. Also taking a leading part in ar
ranging the barbecue arc Isidore Heiman, Sam Levy, Abe Reisman,
Bernard Berger and others.
Commander Libowsky said this is the sole money-raising project of
the Post during the year. Funds realized will be used for the hospital
ization, Americanization, civic and similar programs of the JWV.
