Membership Drive Nears Goal

Chairmen Meyer Balser and Bar
ney Medintz leading the way, the
membership campaign of the At
lanta Jewish Community Center
is rapidly nearing its goal. At the
report meeting held on Sept. 7, at
the new Community Center build
ing on 1745 Peachtree Road,
colonels and captains reported a
membership of almost 1000 sign
ing up. “The meeting," said Chair
man Hertzenberg, “was an indi
cation of real acceptance and en
thusiastic iterest in the new Cen
ter by the total Jewish commun
ity in Atlanta, However,” he add
ed, “we have not fully covered
all prospective cards, and we
must not fail, as workers in the
campaign, to give every Jewish
an opportunity to become a mem
ber of this program.
Mr. Balser has urged all persons
who have not as yet been con
tacted for their membership ap
plications to call Jack Chilnick,

for their applications.
The newly renovated building
on Peachtree Road will be opened
within the next two weeks for
many activities include a Nursery
| School program, an athletic pro
gram, an arts and crafts program,

asked to turn in their application

the gymnasium of the Alliance
building at 318 Capital Avenue
is being closed for repairs from
Sept. 9 to Sept. 18 and possibly
longer.
