Mrs. Sarah Kasz of Los Angeles

The bride-elect has been resid
ing with Mrs. S. Bergner while in
Atlanta. She is a graduate of
Henry Grady high school and is
employed by Kay Garment Co.
Mr. Gold has recently arrived
from Italy and is residing with
Morris Gold.

Saturduy for Washington. Mrs.
Hirsch will go on to Baltimore for

Rabbi Epstein Is
Reported Improved
Rabbi Harry Epstein Thursday
was reported "doing better” fol
lowing a recent illness.
He had been confined to his
home earlier this week. Wednes
day physicians said his progress
permitted him to visit his study at
the A. A. Educational Center.

Mr. and Mrs. Louis I. Merlin of
Atlanta announce the engagement
of their sister Ruth Levetan,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs.
Charles H. Levetan, to Jerome
Allen. The wedding is to take
place in February.
Miss Levetan is a graduate of
Commercial High School and for
the past four years has been em
ployed by Orkin Exterminating
Company.
Mr. Allen is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Allen of New York and
Atlanta. He attended New York
University and is associated with
College 5 and 10.
LEVIN-NERENBAUM
The engagement of Miss Ona
Delores Levin, daughter of Larry
Levin, is announced to Marshall
Nerenbaum, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ike Nerenbaum. The wedding will
take place Dec. 28 at the Mayfair
club.
The bride-elect is the daughter
of Mr. Levin and the late Mrs.
Selma Levin. She was graduated
from Henry W. Grady high school.
Mr. Nerenbaum was graduated
from Emory university, where he
was a member of AEPi fraternity.
He is associated in business with
his father.

lanta announce the birth of a
daughter Nancy on Nov. 1. Mrs.
Saul is the former Miss Roslyn
Blanch of Miami, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Sam Blanch. Paternal
grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.
Harris Saul of Atlanta.
Noted Artist Is “Our Town”
Speaker for B. B. \\ omen
Lamar Dodd, one of America’s most celebrated artists, will be the
featured guest of the B’nai B’rith Women of Atlanta on Monday, Nov.
14, at 12:30 p. m. at the Progressive Club. This is the second meeting
in a series on "Our Town” presenting distinguished persons in Atlanta
and Georgia.
Dr. Dodd, head of the art department at the University of Georgia,
recently had a showing of his work in New York City for which he
won wide acclaim. Life Magazine gave these paintings a color spread
in a recent issue. Mr. Dodd will talk about his paintings.

Council for Judaism
Sets Nov. 16 for
Atlanta Meeting
Dr. Irving F. Reichert of San
Francisco will speak in Atlanta at
8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at the
Progressive Club under auspices
of the Council of Judaism.
Atlanta members have been in
vited to the meeting by Sinclair
Jacobs and Armand May and Mrs.
Elsie S. Moss.
Dr. Reichert is rabbi emeritus of
one of the largest congregations in
America. He is a national honor
ary vice president.
He will discuss nationalism.

Program Monday -
Health in Israel
Hadassah’s health program in
Israel will be the theme of the
meeting called for the B. & P. W.
Division of Hadassah for 8:15 p. m.
Monday, Nov. 14, at the new Com
munity Center, 1745 Peachtree
Road, N. W.
Mrs. Rhoda Udinsky, first vice
presidenf' and program chairman,
will preside for Miss Rose Cher-
kas, president, who is attending
the convention in San Francisco.
Evening chairman is Dr. Regina
Gabler, who is in charge of Ha
dassah Medical Supplies for the
chapter.
The program, to be presented
by Mrs. Udinsky and Mrs. Marie
Mostow, will highlight a drama
tization of the health aspects of
Hadassah activities in Israel and
a movie depicting Hadassah’s
achievements.
Taking part will be Mrs. Esther
Goldman, Mrs. Frances Horowitz,
Miss Lena Taylor and Mrs. Jean
Sherman. Eight-year-old Dian
Sherry, daughter of Mrs. Udinsky,
will give a narration, “Song of
Freedom,” written by Joan Zim
merman, 14.
Jack Tarver (above), associate
editor of the Atlanta Constitution,
will be guest speaker at 7 p. m.
Wednesday, Nov. 16, at a free din
ner for the Ahavath Achim
Brotherhood at the A. A. Educa
tional Center.
Mr. Tarver was for three and a
half years editor of the Macon
News, during which he was such
a faithful attendant at sessions of
the Georgia Legislature that Ma
con congressman presented him
with a loving cup as the fourth
member of the Bibb County dele
gation.
Last Dec. 15, he was awarded
one of three $5,000 Reid Founda
tion fellowship for travel and
study abroad. He chose the South
American areana and his observa
tions of the countries in that con
sent are timely and novel. He will
discuss South America in his re
port talk.
