C., and Charleston has announced the engagement of her daughter, Polly Jacobson Beane, to King Keyserling of Dale, S. C. Mrs. Beane is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and is a librarian at the University of Miami library, Coral Gables, Fla. Mr. Keyserling is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Israel Keyserling. He is postmaster at Dale and is asso ciated in business with his father. FRANKEL-SHAFFER The marriage of Miss Freida Lee Frankel and Max Shaffer was solemnized recently at the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Mack Frankel, with Rabbi Harry Epstein officiating. Mrs. Betty Spicgelman was ma tron of honor. Jake Shaffer, brother of the groom, was best man. The bride’s book was kept •by Miss Rhoda Bressner. Mr. and Mrs. Shaffer left after the ceremony for a wedding trip to New Orleans. They will reside at 1179 Roxboro Dr., N. E. GOLER-GORDON Miss Ida Pauline Goler, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Goler, and Ben Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Gordon, were married recently in the chapel of Ahavath Achim Synagogue. LEVIN-ESTROFF Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Frieda Lillian Levin of Nashville to Mar vin Estroff. The bride-elect is the daughter of Abe Levin and the late Mrs. Nettie Levin of Nashville, Ga. The groom-to-be is the son of Mrs. Sidney Rose and the late William Estroff of Lyons and Augusta. Miss Levin attended the Georgia out hern Socials ern Friends of Irvin Nathan of Ash- burn, formerly of Atlanta, will re gret to learn that he is confined to Emory Hospital. Mrs. Nathan is in Atlanta, staying with Mrs. Hyman Bergman. Mrs. Sam Mohr of Atlanta at tended a recent Temple Sisterhood meeting in Asheville, where she was the guest of Mrs. J. R. Stern berg. Mr. and Mrs. Jake Wilensky have moved into their new home on Fair Haven Circle. Mrs. Alvin Cone of Louisville, Ky., is visiting Mr. and Mrs. L. Strasburger in Atlanta. Mrs. Moe Goldman of Atlanta was in Miami for the eighty-fifth birthday of her father, Ralph Rosenbaum. Mr. Rosenbaum is a former president of the Temple. State College for Women at Val dosta and the University of Geor gia where she was a popular mem ber of the Delta Phi Epsilon sorority. Mr. Estroff was graduated from Riverside Military Academy and the University of Georgia. He is past president of Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity and was noted for his campus activities. He is now in business in Augusta. The wedding will be an event of Feb. 5, taking place in ValdoSta, Ga. The couple will make their home in Augusta. Mrs. S. J. Nathan of Pooler has been confined at the Central of Georgia Hospital in Savannah. Mrs. Harry Sachs of Washing ton is visiting her mother, Mrs. D. J. Boaz in Atlanta. After ten-weeks’ confinement at Emory Hospital, Nathan Gold stein is recuperating at the home of his children, Dr. and Mrs. Na than Sugarman at 880 Cherry St., N. W. He will be glad to hear and see his friends. Mrs. Louis Weiner of Atlanta is vacationing in Miami. Leonard Haas Jr. of Atlanta is spending some time in New York. Mr. and Mrs. Charles Buchwald left Atlanta Friday for a trip to San Francisco where they will visit their son Albert, who is on the staff of the University of Cal ifornia Hospital. Visanska has re turned to Atlanta from Columbus where she spent several weeks with her children, Mr. and Mrs, Edwin Rothschild. Mr. and Mrs. Clinton Long of Wilkesbarre, Pa., spent a short while in Atlanta earlier this week Mrs. Shapiro of New York visiting her children, Mr. and Mrs. Sidney Q. Janus. Mr. and Mrs. J. B.
