V9ESTVOI CEMETERY
SDLD TO LOCAL BUSINESSMEN
Frank C. Bowen and Raymond B. Nelson
announce purchase of famous cemetery
Mr. Frank C. Bowen and Mr. Raymond B. Nelson, promi
nent Atlanta businessmen, announce with pride their pur
chase of beautiful Westview Cemetery.
This purchase, affective March 17, 1952, returns control of this famous Atlanta
landmark, the South's finest burial estate, to local ownership. Both being men of
proven ability and integrity, Mr. Bowen and Mr. Nelson have consummated this
purchase with the full realization of their responsibilities, not only to the present
lot owners in Westview, but to the entire community.
In view of the fact that Westview is so intimately connected with practically every
family in this area, Mr. Bowen and Mr. Nelson state their intention to use the entire
income from the property, over and above the amounts necessary for general op
erations, the Perpetual Care Fund, and the retirement of the preferred stock, to
further beautify and improve the cemetery. The present monument sections will be
improved and expanded. The famous Westview Abbey will be completed and main
tained. The Memorial Park sections will be appropriately landscaped and enlarged.
Mr. Ray Wyrick, nationally known cemetery landscape architect, has been retained
as a consultant, and will formulate a master plan for the improvement of the property.
These two gentlemen, residents of Atlanta for many years, fully realize the
desires and needs of local families, and with a sincere desire to render a real
service to this community, have pledged their every effort toward making
Westview what Atlanta wants it to bo--a community cemetery, serving every
one.
Beautification and improvement of the grounds
will be continued and expanded. Reasonable re
quests of all lot owners will be given every possible
consideration. Courtesy and a desire to serve will
be the keynote of the future.
