With reverence and awe and
with confidence and faith in
the triumph of righteousness
over the forces of evil, Jews
throughout the world step on
the threshold of the new year
5713.
international stress, when we
are all gravely concerned with
the very existence of our free
society, a new calendar year is
upon us. May it bring the
realization of our dearest
dreams, our most fervent
hopes, our most cherished as
pirations, our most treasured
ideals.
We implore the Divine guid
ance in the destiny of every
nation in general and the U. S.
in particular and may our
country become increasingly
stronger and more benevolent
and more enlightening in its
moral leadership of the world.
The whole House of Israel
takes pride in the miraculous
development of the Jewish
State and firmly pledge to
dedicate ourselves anew to
the sanctity of the task of
safeguarding its existence, in
extending our support and sol

curity of our brethren who
created that bastion of free
dom and democracy, where
from the Star of Zion shines
forth, radiating the eternal
message uttered by our proph

We intone our prayers of
the coming High Holidays
against the background of a
world reverberating with the
roar of cannon. Justice ami
peace hang in the balance.
Righteousness and good living

God, to the service of our
faith. Let us hope that with
the beginning of this New

New Year Greetings
to the
Jewish Community
5713
Let us make this a day of reaffirming our belief
and faith in the sure knowledge that there is indeed a
power stronger than all else ... a power that will surely
prove stronger than all the unleashed forces of evil on
this earth.
Let us also strive in this New Year for a deeper
understanding of our fellow man . . . for a feeling of
more tolerance and greater compassion.
