Miss Barbara Cohen, daughter

hen, became the bride of Dr.
William Eugene Schatten, son of
Mrs. Paul Davis and the late
Samuel Schatten, of Nashville,
October 19t'n at the Standard
Town and Country Club. Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein officiated.
The maid of honor was Miss
Harriette Rubinson. Brides
maids were Misses Linda 'Gold,
Linda Smith of Charlotte; Tha
lia Stathas of Highland Park,
Ill.; and Joan Lavine of Trenton,
N. J. Miss Babara Lynn Ilurwitz
kept the bride’s book.
Murray Schatten was his bro
ther’s best man. Usher-grooms
men were Jay Phillip Cohen, bro
ther of the bride; Herschel Hur-
witz, Dr. William G. Hamm,
Hugh Hodgson of Athens-, Dr.
Harry Cohen, Dr. Perry Gold,
Harry Clein and Jack Daniel
Zarem of Savannah.
Following the ceremony the
bride’s parents entertained at a
reception. The couple will go to
Cleveland, Ohio, where Dr. Schat
ten is assistant resident in sur
gery at the University Hospitals.

Mrs. Henry Cohen of Augusta,
formerly of Brooklyn, N. Y., an
nounces the engagement of her
daughter, Randy, to Officer Can
didate Alan J. Siegelson, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Edward Siegelson
of blast Orange, N. J.
Miss Cohen is the daughter of
the late Henry Cohen. She was
graduated from IJpsala College
in East Orange, where she was a
member of Lambda Sigma Alpha
sorority.
Mr. Siegelson, also an Upsala
College alumnus, and a member
of Alpha Sigma Upsilon fraterni
ty, is now attending Officers
Candidate School at Fort Ben-
ning, Ga.

The marriage of Miss Hazel
Lilian Rabhan, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Isaac Rabhan of Sa
vannah, and Herbert J. Reimers,
son of Mrs. A. Reimers and the
late H. E. Reimers of Artesia,
N. M., was conducted recently
by Rabbi Abraham I. Rosenberg
and Cantor Albert Singer.
Mrs. Samuel Rabin was her
sister's maid of honor. Archie
Rabhan, the bride’s brother was
best man. Attendants included
Dr. Leonard M. Rabhan another
brother of the bride, Martin M.
Rabhan and Gerald Pollock.
Dinner was served in the Syn
agogue Social Hall later, with
Miss Barbara Rabhan, a niece,
keeping the bride’s book.
The couple will reside in Sa
vannah.

Louis Goren of Chicago, it has

of Augusta announce the en

Rita, to Dr. Melvin Spira of Chi
cago, son of Dr. and Mrs. Samuel
Spira of Chicago. The wedding
will be an event of November 27.

nold Heisler for their open house
last weekend were their parents.

Dr. Spira received his dental
degree from Northwestern Uni
versity Dental School in 1947
and reecived his Masters Degree
in Oral Surgery in 1951 from
Northwestern’s Graduate School.
At present, Dr. Spira is a
sophomore at the Medical College
of Georgia and is a resident in
Dentistry at the University Hos
pital. He is a member of Phi
Delta Epsilon and Alpha Omega
fraternities.
