Plans have been completed in
Atlanta to give a special Han-

who purchases in cash a State of
Israel Bond from November 1

Atlanta Hadassah and the Pro
gressive Club will share the en
tertainment of servicemen in At
lanta this weekend.
Both events are being spon
sored in cooperation with the
USO-JWB.
Hadassah, under the chair
manship of Mrs. Dan Forman,
has made arrangements for the
dance at 8:15 p.m. Saturday, at
the Temple Social Hall. On the
program are Seymour Kessler,
magician, and Miss Faye Kaplan,
noted portrait artist. Junior Hos
tesses will join Hadassah mem
bers in entertaining. On the

Kahn Will Attend
Communal Parley
Edward M. Kahn of Atlanta
will attend a meeting of the Na
tional Executive Committee of
the National Executive Commit
tee of the National Conference of
Jewish Communal Service in
New York City on November 2.
He is a member of the commit
tee.

Rehearsals are in progress
now for “Council Cruise” which
will be presented Nov. 12 and 13
at the Progressive Club at 8:15
p. m.
It’s a musical, written by Mrs.
Jacob Rothschild. The choreo
grapher and director is Mrs. Hil-
degarde Bennett. Mrs. Morton
Weiss is over-all chairman and
Mrs. Morton Nathan and Mrs.
Herbert Cohen, co-chairmen. The
occasion is the fifth annual Bun
dle Party of the National Coun
cil of Jewish Women. Admission
is $2.50 per person, plus a bun
dle. Reservations may be made
by calling Mrs. Max Sophier,

Gherjner, VE. 7353. The purpose
of the show is to collect bundles
of clothing and bric-a-brac for
the Council Thrift Shop at 322
Capitol Avenue.
Proceeds from the sale of the
goods will be used to help sup
port the charities of Council.

NASHVILLE TEMPLE
NASHVULLE (JTA) — An
nouncement that more than
$250,000 had already been pledg
ed toward a $360,000 goal for
construction of a new edifice to
house the Vine Street Temple
was made here this week.
Present quarters of the con
gregation were erected in 1874.
The new home will provide for a
religious school and assembly
hall as well as other facilities in
addition to the temple.
