William Weiller of St. Paul,
Minn., Sunday, Nov. 2 at the
home of the brides parents. Rab
bi David Marx officiated.
Henry Weiller of St. Paul,
uncle of the bridegroom, served
as the best man and Oscar
Strauss III, brother of the bride,
and Eugene Oberdorfer were the
ushers. Miss Francis Staten was
the maid of honor and the bride’s
only attendant.
Following the ceremony Mr.
and Mrs. Strauss entertained at
a reception, after which the
young couple left by motor for
Virginia, where they will spend
several days in Williamsburg.
From there they will go to Bal
timore, where Lt. Weiller is sta
tioned with the U. S. Air Force.

Dr. Gerald Lifchitz who was
with the 8th Combat Engineers
in Korea for ten months has just
been released from service. Dr.
Lifchitz went in the service as
a First Lieutenant, and has
since been promoted to Captain.
Before going in the service he
practiced dentistry in Atlanta.
Dr. Lifchitz is at present resid
ing at 1327 Briarwood Dr. N.E.

been elected to the executive
committee of the National Jew
ish Youth Conference at the
fifth annual assembly at Camp
Wei-Met, Narrowsburg, N. Y.

came the bride of Arnold Mur
ray Ixjngwater, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Longwater on Octo
ber 14.
The ceremony was conducted
in the Crystal Room of the Gen
eral Oglethorpe Hotel by Rabbi
S. E. Starrels. Rudolph Jacob
son was in charge of the wedding
music.
Mrs. Leon Longwater was the
bride’s matron of honor. Miss
Virginia Weil served ;us maid of
honor.
The ILide.smaids were Mrs.
Harry Kaplan, Mrs. Joseph Kal-
kin and Mrs. Carl Weil. Miss Re-
va Ann Black served as junior
bridesmaid. Flower girls were
Arline Farbman and Jan Long-
water.

After a wedding trip through

Highlighting the November
activities in athletics of the At
lanta Jewish Community Center.
On Sunday, Nov. 16, free me
dical exams for boys and girls
intending to take part in the
AJCC athletic program. From 2
to 4 for the girls and 4 to 6 for
the boys. Morris Hirsch Clinic
at the J.E.A.
On Wednesday, Nov. 19, try
outs for the AJCC All-Star Var
sity team. Last yer’s team
wound up with a favorable 10 to
7 record. All members of the
AJCC are eligible.
“King Basketball” will be
shown on Thursday Nov. 20, at
the annual basketball clinic. Bas
ketball techniques nnd play sit
uations will be demonstrated,
new rule changes explained and
difficulty play situations inter
preted. The public is invited. Ad
mission free.
On Sunday, Nov. 23, eight
teams will begin play in the
AJCC basketball league. 734 and
JO A will lead the contenders
challenging last year’s cham
pions, DSI.
The girls’ basketball league on
Sunday, Nov. 30, will commence
with six fine clubs vying for top
honors, won last year by 314.
Last year’s runner-up DOZ will
likely offer strong competition.
Dark horse club in the group will
be the DEBS, a newly formed
group.
Admission to a six-game card
of basketball games at the Al
liance each Sunday is 25 cents.

tion for the newly-formed Adult
Drama Workshop of the Atlanta
Jewish Community Center, will
be seen Wednesday and Thurs
day, November 11 and 20, 8:30
p. m. at the Samuel Inman
school, 774 Virginia Ave., N. E.
Although the Aduit Drama
Workshop has been in existence
for less than a y.v.r, ' has made
rapid strides in the development
of its initial aims to orente a per
manent workshop where one can
find not only entertainment and
recreation, hut a means for self-
expression in all phases of the
theater.
The Workshop is a cooperative
group where each member shares
equally all the minute details and
tasks that arise in connection
with a production and where
they can receive invaluable train
ing and experience. It is the
Adult Drama Workshop’s earn
est desire to have future major
productions stem directly from
the knowledge of drama that the
participants obtain while they
work on a play. Present members
have actively participated in
every phase of their first play,
and now their excitement and in
terest has mounted to a feverish
pitch as they realize that their
combined efforts these many
months past will soon he viewed
in the shape of a finished per
formance.
