Sterne, Albany, Ga., announce the
marriage of their daughter Fran
ces Carolyn to Joseph Weintraub,
son of Col. and Mrs. Jacob Wein
traub of Atlanta February 8. The
wedding was conducted by Rabbi
Martin Hinchin in Albany.
Miss Janet Marks of Albany was
the bride’s maid of honor and Miss
Irma Weintraub, sister of the
groom, was the bridesmaid.
A reception was held immedi
ately following the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Weintraub plan on
making their home in Albany at
a very early date.
WAGGER-WENDER
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wagger of
High Point N. C. announce the en
gagement of their daughter, Miss
Betty Diane Wagger to Marvin L.
Wender, son of Mr. and Mrs. Julius
Wender of Atlanta.
Miss Wagger attended Stephens
College, High Point College, and
the University of Alabama. At the
latter, she was a member of Sigma
Delta Tau of which she was vice
president and president of the Hil-
lel Foundation.
Mr. Wender was graduated from
Boys High and attended the Uni
versity of Georgia, He served three
and one-half years with the U. S.
Army Engineers, a year of which
time was spent in the Philippines.
He is associated with Smart Pro
ducts, Inc., of Atlanta.
The wedding is planned for May
17 in High Point.

AUGUSTA—Sam Stern, a civic-
minded businessman from Fargo,
N. C., was in Augusta recently to
address a dinner dance held in
conjunction with St. Patrick's Day.
Mr. Stern is Jewish.
The event was planned in honor
of the visiting grand exalted ru
ler of the Elks of America. Mr.
Stern spoke to a largely Protestant
audience in a combination broth
erhood and St. Patrick’s day ccle
bration.

Mrs. Max Schenk, Brooklyn,
project chairman of the Brooklyn
region of Hadassah, reported on
recent developments in Israel at
the annual donor program spon
sored by Augusta Hadassah. She
was introduced by Mrs. Israel D.
Shapiro, honorary president of the
Augusta chapter of Hadassah.
Mrs. M. K. Steinberg was program
chairman. Mrs. Jack E. Fink is
president of the chapter.

Chaplain Philp W. Zimmerman of
Camp Gordon Monday evening in
a traditional Passover Seder for
Jewish personnel at the post..

Mrs. Goldie Levy, the groom’s
sister, was matron of honor. Miss'
Carolyn Levy* was flower girl.
Following a seated dinner, the
couple left on a wedding trip to
New York.
