Marks Tenth Anniversary

munity Council here has celebrat
ed its tenth birthday.
The occasion was marked at a
banquet meeting at the Jewish
Educational Alliance when Rabbi
Philip S. Bernstein, past president
of the Central Council of Rabbi

Cutler, one of the oldest journal
ists in Israel, died here this week
end at the age of 77.'For yeans a
resident of the United States, Mt.
Cutler, who immigrated to the U.
S. in 1908, wrote for the defunct
Yiddish language Tageblatt of
New York and other papers. He
left for Palestine in 1921 where
he worked for many years for the
Jewish National Fund and contri
buted to a number of Hebrew
newspapers, including Davar.
MONSKY VILLAGE
JERUSALEM (JTA)—A village

Brenda Katz Wins
Top Fellowship at
Emory Graduate School
Brenda Suzanne Katz will be
one of the co-eds on the Emory
University Campus next term.
But she’ll be more than usually
interested in her studies than the
other co-eds for she’ll be enrolled
in the post-graduate School.
She has been awarded a $1525
fellowship to enable her to secure
her master’s degree in psychology.
This is the top Emory award, giv
en entirely on an open competi
tive basis because of her scholar
ship record. She will not have to
perform any services in return, a
spokesman of the Graduate School
said.. '

Brenda has just graduated from
