Scrap Meta! & Waste Material Division
To Hold Annual Welfare Fund Dinner
Under the leadership of M. Wil
liam Breman, David Koplin, Sid
ney Gulden, Max London, and
Max Rittenbaunv the Scrap Metnl
and Waste Material Division of
the 1953 Welfare Fund campaign
will hold its annual cocktail party
and dinner on Monday, April 20,
7 P.M., at the Mayfair Club.
It has become traditional for
members of this group each year
to mobilize their Industry in be
half of the Welfare Fund. They
hove taken the lead in the post,
and this year, in responding to the
needs in a magnlficlent fashion,
they understand what the Welfare
Fund means to the community and
what proper, giving means to the
various causes included in the one
campaign.
In 1952 the Scrap Metal and
Waste Material Division spear
headed the campaign and it is an
ticipated that they will out-per-
form that record during the cur
rent drive. They recognize the spe
cial needs of 1953 when once again
lives must be rescued from the
tyranny and oppression of the Iron
Curtuin Country rulers.
Men’s Division W ill Iteport
At Sunday Breakfast
AH groups in the Men’s Divi
sion of the 1953 Welfare Fund
campaign, including Advance
Gifts 1 and 2, Special Gifts and
General Solicitation, will gather
for their first report mee'ing at a
breakfast at the Progressive Club
at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 19, it has
been announced by A. L. Feldman
and David L. Slann, General Cam
paign Chairmen.
Thus far, the outstanding char
acteristics of the 1953 campaign
are excellent attendance at work
ers meetings os well as at fund
raising meetings, and the general
level of increases. Both Mr. Feld
man end Mr. Slann have express
ed their great satisfaction with the
enthusiastic mobilization of the
entire community in behalf of the
Welfare Fund. Mr. Feldman ex
pressed the opinion that 1953
promises to be the banner year in
the history of the Welfare Fund.
Co-Chairman Dave Slann was
most happy about the fine turnout
at the meetings. He s{jid, “As long
as they continue to come we know
that the meaning of the needs of
1953 will reach them and we will
find them responding generously.’’
This first report meeting is being
looked forward to with great an
ticipation.
Another characteristic is the
large number of younger men and
new leadership, Mr. Slann states
it was most gratifying to find
younger men coming forward to
take their places in community
work. He concluded that it was a
most promising sight of our youn
ger people coming to maturity.
