She was president of the Atlanta
chapter of I.Z.F.A. At present the
bride-elect teaches at the Forest
Park Elementary School.
Mr. Kent received his B.S. degree
in chemistry from Emory Univer
sity where he was a member of
Alpha Epsilon Upsilon and Phi
Beta Kappa. He is now attending
medical school at Tulane Univer
sity where he is a member of Phi
Ddlta Epsilon medical fraternity.

To Install Officers
Mrs. I. Harold Hammerman,
president of B’nai B’rith District
No. 5 Ladies, will install officers
for the 1953-54 season officers for
the Atlanta Auxiliary Chapter on
Monday, May 11, at the Mayfair
Club.
Mrs. Hammerman, a housewife
and mother, was proclaimed “Wo-*
man of the Year” by the Women’s
Clubs of Baltimore for her assis
tance in recruiting and training
over 1,000 volunteers for the Air
Force Filter Center of Baltimore.
She worked .for two and one half
years with Air Force personnel to
prepare these areas against enemy
assaults by air.
Luncheon will be served at 12:30
p.m., with Mrs. Hyman Caplan,
Atwood 6118, and Mrs. Henry Igar,
Vernon 0136, taking reservations.
Guests unable to attend the lunch
eon are invited to the meeting
which starts at 1:30 p.m.
A program of dancing will be
presented by “Hildegarde” and the
‘Atlanta Civic Ballet.
Hostesses will be Mrs. Jake
Friedman, Mrs. Alex Miller, Mrs.

GAME FOR QUINTET
MINNEAPOLIS, (JTA) — Plans
for an exhibition game between
the basketball teams of Beth El
Synagogue and Mount Olivet Lu
theran Church, contenders for the
Church League junior division
citywide championship were being
considered here this week.
The Jewish quintet forfeited its
chance for the championship,
which went to the church teafn by
default, when it refused to appear
in the playoff scheduled for the
second might of Passover. The
church teams' championship
would not be at stake in the ex
hibition match.
The wedding will take place
June 2 at the Ahavath Achim Ed
ucational Center.
