Mrs. H. Morton Helzberg and the
late Dr. Helzberg of Kahsas City,
Mo.
Miss Malkove attended Sullins
College, the University of Mis
souri, and received her Bachelor
of Arts degree from the Univer
sity of Alabama.
Mr. Helzberg attended the Uni
versity of Texas. At present he is
serving with the United States
Army.

INJURY COLUMN
Davis Ajouelo of Atlanta is
recuperating at Crawford L o n g
Hospital from injuries received in
an accident which happened Sun
day while he was en route to the
funeral, of a friend. The car in
which he was riding was rammed
as the cortege svent through a red
light, according to traffic laws.
Mr. Ajouelo was thrown from the
car unconscious. He suffered three
broken ribs.

perating from injuries received in
the hands of two ride-rob bandits,

Shule Plans 34th
Annual Banquet
The Annual Banquet for the
benefit of the I. L. Peretz School
of the Workmen’s Circle will take
place at the Progressive Club on
Sunday, October 25, at 6:30 p.m.
“This celebration—the 34th an
nual event of its kind—honors the
Yiddish language, Jewish culture,
the Yiddish school movement and
all those who are deeply con
cerned with its work an dcon-
tinued progress," according to M.
J. Merlin, chairman, and esteem
for the Peretz School’s continuous
and effective activities in the field
of Yiddish, Jewish and worldly
education, and for its unceasing
advocacy of the rights of the Yid
dish language and of our posi
tion as true Jews and true Ameri
cans.’’
. The gathering will be greeted
by representatives of friendly
and fraternal organizations and
hear Yiddish melodies and folk-
ballads and readings from the
works of the great figures in Jew
ish literature — Peretz, Sholem
Aleichem and others.
The School Committee of the
Arbeiter Ring in Atlanta invites
all its friends to participate. The
price of the dinner is $2.75 per
person.

ture of the Ahavath Achim Sister
hood’s Annual Silver Tea at 2
p.m. Monday, Nov. 2, at the A. A.
Educational Center.
The Silver Tea, honoring new
members, is a feature of the Sister
hood’s Membership Month, which
this year is under the direction qf
Mrs. Leonard Meyer and her co-
chairman, Mrs. Perry Morris.
Two door prizes will be offered
paid-up members.
Mrs. Herbert Taylor, well known
throughout the c om m u n i t y in
musical circles, will direct the
pageant.
To Speak in Atlanta
Dr. Mordecai Kaplan, leader of
the Reconstructionist Movement
in Judaism, will speak in Atlanta
Wednesday, Nov. 11, at the Pro
gressive Club, under auspices of
the Gate City Lodge, B’nai Brith.
