Camera Misses Hadassah Delegation;
Offered for Sale As “Anti-Semitic”
The Southern Israelite staff
photographer is seeking a market
for what he terms an “anti-Semi
tic camera.”
Editor Adolph Rosenberg, who
doubles as staff picture-taker, re
ports that for the second consecu
tive season, the trusty—and per
haps rusty—camera has missed re
cording the delegation from At
lanta’s Hahassah Chapter to the
national convention.
Last year, President Irene
Schwartz and the chiefs of the
several groups cooperatively posed
at The Southern Israelite office
before taking off for the conven
tion. The camera however failed
to cooperate and no picture was
registered.
This year, the Hadassah leaders
graciously offered a second chance
and the group gathered for a
photograph at the Progressive
Club prior to a board meeting.
Again no pictures.
Sitting from right to left in the
picture which was missed last
were these members of the Atlan
ta delegation to the Washington
conference: front, Mrs. David Al-
Greenberg Bas Mitzvah
Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Greenberg
cordially invite all their family
and friends to the Bas Mitzvah of
their daughter, Gloria Frances
which will take place on Friday,
Nov. 6, at 8 p.m. at the Ahavath
Achim Synagogue.

terman, Henrietta Szold; Mrs.

dent; Mrs. D. L. Wollner, Kadi-

berman, B. & P. W., Mrs. Jack
Silver, Herzlia, and Mrs. Charles
Weiner Tel Chai, all are group or
chapter presidents.
“This is obviously a case of
prejudice,” Mr. Rosenberg said.
“After all the camera has a Ger
man-made lens which might very
well be anti-Jewish.”
Result: one used camera for
sale. Inclement and petulent up
on occasion. Has also refused to
record such celebrities as Prime
Minister Ben Gurion and the na
tional J. W. V. president. Not all
misses, however, and many of the
magazine covers and pictures have
been pictured with the instrument
,the length and breadth of the
South. May even have certain
sentimental attachment.
